Note: Any changes to his build should be applied to next season and not be available for this postseason.
Now that his ridiculous postseason run is over for the Mavs -- and it's been more than a year since his last Stockwatch in early May 2021 -- let's talk Luka Doncic ascending into that top echelon League wide. While he's already very highly rated, I would argue that he's in that select group of players who deserve a 95+ rating based on his impact on a team, ability to carry and deliver when it matters, and ultimately entering a zone historically that align with greats of the game, like Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, and LeBron James.
The resume overall at age 23:
The statistics since his last Stockwatch in May 2021:
As far as rating point distribution, I'd argue Luka can get additional points in the following areas:
In sum, he's earned in my view another increase to put himself in the top 5-7 of ratings League wide.
Current Rating: 93
Proposed Rating: 96

The resume overall at age 23:
- 3x All-NBA 1st Team (only Durant and Tim Duncan have achieved that before age 24) and 3x All Star
- Career regular season averages of 26.4/8.5/8.0 on 46/34/74 splits with 57% TS in 264 games
- Career postseason averages of 32.5/9/3/7.9 on 47/37/70 splits with 58% TS in 28 games. That PPG average is second only to Michael Jordan for players who have 25 or more career playoff games
The statistics since his last Stockwatch in May 2021:
- 2021-22 Season (65 games): 28.4/9.1/8.7 on 46/35/74 splits with 57% TS
- 2021-22 Postseason (15 games): 31.7/9.8/6.4 on 45/35/77 splits with 58% TS
As far as rating point distribution, I'd argue Luka can get additional points in the following areas:
- OAware - +4 to max out at 99 from current 95
- Passing - +8 to max out at 99 from current 91 (second only to Trae in AST Rate and first in Shot Quality Creation (per Synergy Sports here) the last two seasons at 5.3 points added per teammates 100 shot attempts)
- Defensive Rebounding - +11 to 90 from 79, as he is a top 15 rebounder League wide based on Defensive Rebound Rate at 26% (on par with Ayton and Bam who are only one percentage point ahead at 13 and 14 overall) and on raw output for rebounding he's in the top 20 (only guard in that group for rate and total per game)
- Field Goals - +6 to 95 from 89 as he's not only near the top in Usage rate, but also in attempts per game and that should be reflected
In sum, he's earned in my view another increase to put himself in the top 5-7 of ratings League wide.
