Surely, sorry was having a busy night with the newborn! This trade essentially gives me a still great wing defender in the old man Iggy. We’re gearing up for the playoffs where we’ll likely be facing some great wing scorers along the way so this seems like a no brainer. Even with Kawhi out, our team is good enough to make a deep playoff run, plus after some planning I didn’t plan to bring Davis back whose shown flashes, but has become a bit stagnant, and also firmly behind Kawhi, and Keldon on our DC. The other players are buried on the depth chart, and don’t get PT so essentially the picks for Iggy whose a proven wing defender is fair in my eyes. Also we get just a smidgen more cap space next year to work some deals with Bam, and potentially Rudy which is always nice.

Bulls made out like bandits here… Memphis got put in a blender. Multiple seconds, and good bench warmers traded away for Iguodala whose been on the bench during the playoffs, and is a washed player is crazy 🤢 You’re giving up picks, and clearly getting worse, which is a double whammy.

You're trading away players who are equally as good as Iguodala, and two 2nd Round picks, for Iguodala who has like 1 more year left in him, he's 38 years old ffs. By every method of quantifying value you're getting conclusively fleeced in this deal. The reasoning has no grounding in the reality of how you build a team in this league. Very, VERY interested in your MEM 2025 1st Round Pick though, if you're selling.

My first instinct was that nothing here is valuable enough to reject, but this really is a bad deal for Memphis. There are no real silver linings. Iggy is 38, overrated at a 77, and has been a liability on offense for years. Memphis also already has O'Neale who plays the same role but better. Given the depth of that roster Iggy is unlikely to get any real playing time, especially once that rating decrease goes through. This really does look like the Grizzlies just giving stuff away. I'd probably still let it go with a long-time GM, but with all this Memphis drama, I'm not so sure. I guess I'm leaning reject on this one.

Also rejecting, Iggy definitely should not be a 77. This is practically just Memphis gifting two 2nds.
