After watching the Warriors beat me in the finals last year with Durant, Steph and not much else, my sim philosophy recently has been that it is definitely a quality over quantity ordeal. The Celtics team this year exemplifies this as well. I think even with the holes that this creates in my lineup, adding Jokic gives me a better chance of winning than does having a a more well-rounded lineup with Bam and Poeltl rated in the 80s. Obviously a huge risk involved with the re-signing of Jokic as well, but hopefully my team can have some success in the playoffs and show him that its a good place to sign on for the next 3 years until he reaches his 10 year max. I really envision my duo of Booker and Jokic as a great pairing in D5 for the foreseeable future, so hopefully everyone stays healthy and we can create a dynasty!

Accepting this, I originally wanted to keep Jokic on board, however consensus says there is a very high possibility of him walking this off-season, though I suspect that would’ve been the case regardless of the Spider Mitchell trade. Plus it’s hard to turn down a top 10 player, with multiple years left on his contract, a great defensive anchor in Bam Adebayo whose productive offensively, and another young great defensive big whose taken strides on both sides of the ball that’s also locked down long term. I still have some other moves up my sleeve, and I think my team will be able to compete with the very best when it’s all done.

I know this is my third reply in a row and that's annoying but I'm seriously like sitting here with my mouth open.
Monty literally said the general consensus was that Jokic was leaving. YOU literally said that Jokic was "100% walking" AS A PLAYER AGENT.
But somehow it's partially my fault for telling all of you to stop with the Jokic leaving rhetoric? Because a trade was agreed upon by two parties and immediately everybody jumped in the comments saying now Jokic is gone. And my response to that was no, he should not be leaving over this trade. And now that's my fault and my brother's fault, for "non stop messaging a new GM"
Bro come on. You're not only continuously negative you're also condescending.
While this trade is wild, it's actually good value for Jokic. It's crazy how much Kawhi has been flipped, but this at least gives Memphis multiple assets. Good trade for both teams, while I like it more for Josh because he gets the best player. Kawhi-Bam-KJ-Bey-Poeltl + Clippers 1st is a pretty good core

After my usual instinctual reaction of outrage and jealousy I have to admit, if you're going to be putting together a trade package for Jokic, then Kawhi+Bam is a pretty strong start. It's a shame to see 8 years of loyalty to Jokic get traded but it seems like a good return.
I'm now majorly spooked by the Nets for these upcoming playoffs.
I accept.

This is the kind of trade I want to reject emotionally, because the D5 Grizzlies are kind of defined by Jokic, but I can't deny it's a very shrewd move to sidestep the risk of losing Jokic in free agency. It's very good value assuming Kawhi is healthy too, but I guess his injuries are the new risk Memphis has to deal with.
Accept.

Kawhi-Bam-KJ-Bey-Poeltl + Clippers 1st is a pretty good core Just to make this clear, you never messaged a GM saying he should take a trade because X player is leaving? You never spammed someone's inbox? You didn't spam Monty's inbox? Is that what you are saying?
Monty did not understand that a player in year 8 isn't a RFA, he had a chance to take it back, he didn't, I was the first to ask for the trade to be re-voted so what's your play here? Are you throwing a tantrum for the sake of it because you didn't get Jokic? Why are you even commenting on this trade before it was accepted? Didn't you make a fit about that? Doesn't it sound a little bit hypocritical? How about you start taking things on the chin like everyone else does instead of taking it personal and go on a personal vendetta?
And about my PA's work last summer, I don't think there was any controversy with the decisions, shit Giannis was nearly the first player sign to you of all people despite years of arguing if he should stay or go. And I think you will have a hard time finding any decision that was derived by narratives or friendship.

Just so you know, cause you’re spreading non-sense, my first message to Monty after he made those statements about RFA was: “Would you like to back out of the trade?” he replied and my next message was: “I’ll leave it up to you, I’m cool with whatever.” There was no spamming, there was no pressure, so stop making shit up.

I share the sentiments of just sort of "not liking" that Jokic gets traded.
But, the value is definitely good enough imo and this really, really pits a stamp on this team as Monty's. Just like Jokic ended up being Jeremiah's stamp.
So, in a way, that's pretty cool

Was this an actual rare win-win trade?
