Knicks agree. We lose Lin my starting point guard and Fields but we get Marakieff as a long term big man and a first round pick. I think this trade will benefit my team in the long run

I agree with this. I get a pass-first point guard in preparation for Steve Nash leaving and an athletic shooting guard.

Phoenix is definitely getting the better deal here. The first round pick is the only thing that has me on the fence about this one, bc that pick could end up being an Anthony Davis or Kidd-Gilchrist or someone like that. That's a lot to give up for Marakieff Morris and Telfair. I'm going to see what Boston and Chicago say about this before I accept.

not sure but I think you have the trade misunderstood, as I am getting the first round pick in addition to telfair and morris.
I know I was going to have trouble re signing fields and lin with my cap situation and the pieces I received are more guaranteed. Phoenix with their cap situation has the space to re-sign both players

I'll accept, like Miami said, that first round pick holds a lot of value and NYK would have difficulty re-signing those players anyways.

I can see what the Knicks are doing here and that's cool and Phoenix are generally improving the quality of their talent, but Phoenix's inclusion of their 1st Rounder doesn't sit well with me.
Phoenix are a team who should be thinking about rebuilding and they're not going to achieve that, unless by some miracle, by working with what they have. Trading away their first rounder, in a year in which they're projected to be lottery bound, with only an ageing few pieces of low-value trade fodder to work with, is the worst thing they could possibly do.
What they're essentially saying with this trade is that they're going to choose a rebuilding path that will mean all their trades will have to gradually improve their situation and in my opinion that's a strategy only for contending teams. When you've chosen that path and the only pieces you have to work with are Gortat, Redd, Nash and Lin "you're gonna have a bad time".
I reject.
Isiah and Aubrey - if you confirm you're going to accept after my rant in this post I will change my vote to accept. Please give more feedback on this one please.

I have absolutely no intention of tanking and settling for a season of disappointment just for a lottery pick. I'm looking to build a roster that can contend immediately. If we do end up having a disappointing season, well at least I helped the Knicks get another good player in addition to Morris.
Jeremy Lin is a solid successor to Steve Nash and Landry Fields has also shown that he's a solid swingman. They can work well for me in the long run, provided I can re-sign them both, and I believe I can.
It might be risky, and I agree that it is. But if everything doesn't work well, I'll have just delayed my worst-case scenario one year, albeit with just a smidge more space to work with. If everything works well, the Suns will be back to contending in no time.

IMO, you're putting too much value into their first rounder, this Suns IRL finished 9th in the tough West this season and as long as they have Nash, anything is possible. With the moves Phoenix has made, I'm confident they can string together a solid push for the playoffs this season as they've added more talent. With the current lineup factoring in this trade, I think this pick will be in the 12-15 range at best.
