I just don't really understand how this is the market for an 87 rated player. Sure, the Heat say that they want to clear Holiday's salary because he's "getting old," but who are they going to replace him with? They'll have ~$26M in cap space this off-season - do they expect to sign someone remotely comparable to Holiday? I don't think so. More, they don't own their pick next year, so when they inevitably fail to sign someone rated nearly as high as Holiday, they will fall in the rankings and gift Utah a very nice draft day present. And what are they getting in return? Corey Kispert, a 23 year old with the ceiling of Joe Harris, and Theo Maledon, a 20 year old whose draft comparison was Frank Ntilikina, and is currently shooting 37% for the 2nd season in a row. Oh, and don't forget the 2022 pick currently sitting at 25th overall. How can this possibly be the return for a player of Holiday's caliber? How can this possibly be the result of reasonable efforts to shop Holiday?

Cleveland - Houston - UtahHouston sends:CJ McCollum Houston receives:Derrick Rose Jalen Brunson Bol Bol Corey Kispert Theo Maledon 2022 CLE 1st and now this trade: Houston sends:Derrick Rose Jalen BrunsonBol Bol Corey Kispert Theo Maledon 2022 CLE 1st Houston Receives:Jrue Holiday So essentially, Tom has flipped literally the exact assets he got in the McCollum deal, minus Jalen Brunson who is perhaps the only piece with any real value, for Jrue Holiday.

I'm really high on Maledon. He has a potential to be a star. Kispert is also good.
Jrue Holiday is old and does not fit the timeline of Ingram and Bridges. next year he will be a negative untradable asset if bucks fall this year.

I share James Kay's concerns here, Miami are not getting a great return for Jrue, but trade passes I guess. One big sticking point: Houston does not own Sacramento's 2025 2nd pick Tom Izzo Shaquille O'Neal whatcha gonna do 'bout it?

Shaquille O'Neal do you think Maledon is a future star or not? Do you believe in your player evaluations or were just making stuff up on the spot?

Unless I'm missing something you own the SAC 2022 2nd rounder, just acquired from this trade, but not the 2025 2nd. I'm not sure if it was a typo and this would solve it, or if Miami is going to use this as an out to decline the trade?

I'm not sure if it was a typo and this would solve it, or if Miami is going to use this as an out to decline the trade? It was a typo and I never realized it until recently. I have the 2022 pick and we need to just change it but we need Shaq to agree to that swap. When me and Shaq agreed to the trade we didn't talk specifics of picks, just 1st/2nd. Once he was posting he asked which team and year and I accidentally said 2025 2nd instead of 2022. He was already good with any 2nd up to that point.

I own the 2022 Sacramento 2nd, not 2025. It's a mistake in the posting that had no bearing on the originally agreed upon deal between the two of us.

So Shaquille O'Neal already posted his acceptance of the deal, so by that logic he is bound to the trade. However the posted 2nd Rounder was the wrong pick, so that provides grounds for allowing Shaq to back out of the trade. Tom Izzo supplied me with a screenshot showing that Shaq never cared which 2nd rounder it was: imgur.com/a/p9PI0AaSo since we're just 30 guys on a sim league and not a multinational organisation I would like to appeal to you, Mr Shaquille O'Neal, please reconsider and do not back out of the trade given that you didn't care which 2nd pick it was to start. However the choice is still yours to make.
