My master plan has finally come together. Kawhi and I agreed before the season that it would be necessary for him to move around in a series of trades in order to improve our team. We first orchestrated a trade to the Wizards, which netted us Bam Adebayo and Moses Moody. Bam was the key cog in this equation, as Kawhi specifically demanded that we bring him to the team. The second part of our plan was the most difficult: convincing the Wizards to trade Kawhi to the Spurs. I quickly found myself on a plane to Manila, where I planted subtle seeds around town that Kawhi needed to go, hoping that Kareem would bite. It worked to perfection. Once Kawhi was in San Antonio, there was only one phase of our plan left: we had to injure Paul George in order to equate his value to Kawhi and thus allow us to propose a trade to bring him back. We discretely placed several stacks of 20s around Paul George's locker, knowing that he would endlessly throw them in the club until his elbow was completely toast. It was like taking candy from a baby. Once Paul George was injured, it was only a matter of time. Our stockpile of rookies to add into a trade was too great a prize for any D5 GM, and George Gervin was the next victim in a series of elaborate schemes by Kawhi. We added in the rookie we originally got, Moses Moody, to complete the Kansas city shuffle, and net ourselves Bam Adebayo for Paul George. Kawhi gets his guy, and never even had to leave Brooklyn to do it. Welcome back Kawhi!

I accept
This is a mea culpa of sorts on my end, as a miscalculation I made in acquiring Kawhi was the weight given to his historical disloyalty. For those on the Discord server, there was a real groundswell that Kawhi’s history should strongly factor in to the point I felt necessary to preemptively move him now even if I’m getting a lesser wing in return. The fact is, he left the Spurs in real life, I was on the clock to show something, and with AD injured and the prospect of a lost season this year factoring in to a ‘Do or Die’ 2022-23 season for me (along with the aforementioned chatter on the Discord), I try to split the difference here on this trade.
Do I think Kawhi and PG are the same level? No — but unlike Kawhi, PG has much more control on his contract with no outs, he provides me a hedge as well on the doomsday scenario if, for whatever reason, AD bolts that I at least can roll out Luka-PG in 2022-23 no matter what, and who knows what Moody and Garuba become but at the very least they’re controlled, rookie scale guys who as wings should fit on paper with the three stars.
Good luck Kawhi in round 2 in Brooklyn — may you find the big market desires and title you’re searching for. Sorry we couldn’t do that here on the River Walk, but I didn’t want to endure a D5 version of your real life exit from San Antone
Edit: One last note — before a certain GM gets in here on me trading two FAs in Carmelo and Matthews, I expressly signed them with the pitch they would play for a title contending team, and in my current state, I have no delusions on where my season will likely end. At least in Brooklyn, Carmelo and Matthews have a real shot at the title.

Joshstradamus's trade tactics are above and beyond what we mortals conceive as mere "negotiations".
