Vucevic is dealing with the addition of a massive USG rate player joining the team in DeMar DeRozan - a player who scores nearly exclusively mid-range, occupying a lot of the same scoring zones that Vucevic does. Vucevic was #15 on FGA from 10-14 last year, and #20 on 15-19 feet. He was one of only 3-4 bigs in this range with AD, Embiid, and LMA. This year, DeRozan is #2 in 10-14 feet and #1 in 15-19 feet shots.
Per100, Vucevic's rebounding and assist numbers are nearly identical to last year. His turnovers are down. His steal and block numbers are up. The Bulls are the 1 seed.
Yes, his shooting numbers have dipped but he has compensated in other areas and the Bulls are the #1 seed. I don't think a player should be punished for fitting into a new role. This is the same type of attitude people had when Bosh joined the Heat. "Oh, his box-score stats are down, he got worse since he joined the Heat."

Guard defense is less important and impactful than big defense. Good or bad.
Vuc is a terrible defender, that's very clear to me from watching him and I think the vast majority of people would agree.
