George had some moderate interest, but was often a 2nd/3rd/4th option. With the other teams who had interest having withdrawn offers or run out of money or signed their higher priorities, this is the best / only offer available now. That said, we do like Sacramento and look forward to being a top PG backup. And, behind John Wall, there's a chance it leads to some good PT (sadly, Love you John)!

Edit - never mind I read the rules wrong. You're good!

Actually this isn't legal due to the increase period. This will have to come out of his MLE, of which he has none left.

So 1 - illegal due to >7.5% increase
2 - with the increase this is no longer a league minimum contract and needs to use his MLE

Just b/c I'm not sure on the order of your original post vs your edit, I wanted to lay out my understanding:

League Minimum can only be 2 years, which this is.
League Minimum salary is $925,258, which this is to start.
"League minimum contracts otherwise conform to the usual contract regulations"
- Maximum an offered salary can increase/decrease per year is by 7.5% of the initial offer OR the league minimum salary. So, that's what we were operating on here.

I think you know this and it's what your edit at the top means, just like... triple checking lol.

This shows the dangers of waiting as a PA, I offered Hill a 1 year, $3m deal back on October 4th but he held out for more money and ended up with significantly less, and not contending for a title.
