Kemba has been with the Rockets and Giannis for multiple years now, as evidenced by his Bird Rights being retained by the team. He absolutely adores Giannis and loves the city of Houston. Additionally, no one else came with a serious offer for his services. Tom Izzo was quick to offer and kept in communication throughout this process, and there really isn't a reason to wait any longer as far as we can see. I can certainly include the development of Julius Randle into a really great player last year, plus CJ McCollum, Draymond Green, and Joe Ingles making this a really great roster.
