Two way contract with the 76ers, expected to start the season up with Philly:
Yr 1 (2021-22): $926,000 Yr 2: $926,000 Yr 3: $926,000
Edit: Updated salary offered to reflect above the minimum salary — I was using last years figures based on the rules section.

Ian Noble I have a few things to say about this. 1) I know that we've (you've) decided to allow GMs to bid on players that aren't created yet. However, the rules do not reflect this. The rules actually state:
Players must exist in-game before they can be signed. If you're player does not yet exist post a player creation thread in the Stock Watch Discussion first.
It would be helpful to get some clarification on what exactly is allowed.
2) Why is RSFA procedure being used during OSFA? This is also confusing as in the past, this was not the case:
One thing I did find whilst investigating all the history behind the Josh Richardson situation was that Regular Season Free Agency doesn't start until the following season.
IDK. Maybe this was always allowed? But it doesn't seem that way - if you look at season archives for RSFA, there is a big gap between May 2020 and Dec 2020, no signings after May 2019, no signings after May 2018, etc.
I have no problem with either of these things. I think bidding on players that aren't created is totally fine. It encourages and rewards sharp scouting for unnoticed and unrecognized talent. I also think that using RSFA on these players and other sub-70 players during OSFA is also fine - it's when GMs are most active, and doesn't overburden the PAs. I do think, however, that:
1) There needs to be a formal announcement that both of these things are allowed - I would be willing to bet that a lot of GMs are unaware that one or both of these things are allowed and probably do not even know they are occurring. It needs to be reflected in the rules that this is legal - currently this is illegal.
2) There needs to be more time than 24 hours. Maybe 48, maybe 72, but 24 hours is such a short time. With OSFA's flurry of activity, these sort of bids can easily go unnoticed. I don't think this signing should be upheld.
Lastly, something urgently needs to be done about the minimum contract situation. It is crazy that this:
Year 1:$925,259 (min +$1.00) Year 2:$925,259 Year 3:$925,259 Year 4:$925,259
is legal!! While this:
Year 1: $925,258 Year 2: $1,850,516 Year 3: $2,775,774 Year 4: $3,701,032
is illegal. IMO the rule should be expanded so that contracts extending longer than 2 years must raise by the league minimum in the 3rd and the 4th year.

I’d strongly disagree that this signing should be nullified. My thoughts:
1. First, this is being completed during a time when every team in the League either has access to significant cap space or the MLE; therefore, unlike the regular season when the potential bidding pool shrinks substantially and instances like PJ Tucker going for $3 MM total over three years happen due to the lack of available money, that isn’t an issue here. If someone liked Henry, they could’ve easily blown my bid out of the water given the cap availability at everyone’s disposal right now.
2. The notion that GMs wouldn’t notice this signing during arguably the most active time of the League year feels like a straw man to me— the number of GMs in the last week that have been ‘online’ and therefore can see the new posts being made in the various League folders should counter the notion that I feel you’re insinuating I’m trying to “sneak” this signing by. Again, like point #1, a GM very easily could’ve come in over the top and just bid this to the moon, but to say this had less visibility than if it occurred Week 1 of the regular season instead, for example, doesn’t hold water to me.
3. Players who haven’t been ‘built’ in the sims have been bid before in this process, which you acknowledge in your thoughts on this signing, and those instances — PJ Dozier, Ty Jerome, etc — have been allowed to stand before they’re “created”. Both Henry and Marcus Garrett are considered active players on rosters and, to me, are fair game. This isn’t the same as the Justinian Jessup signing that was rejected last year due to the fact that, even though he was drafted by the Warriors and went undrafted in D5, he had yet to make an active roster and was still an overseas player. Both Henry and Garrett are not that situation.
4. Lastly, if I WANT to use limited cap resources on these dice rolls, why shouldn’t I? I don’t feel I should have to wait to see if someone else comes along after chasing bigger fish to sign guys I have scouted and like what I see. This isn’t the same as the Wes Matthews signing I made, but it feels similar semantically in a signing you think is “too soon” when, despite 40+ views on Henry’s thread, no one made an effort to exceed mine.

I think the solution might be that every player needs to go through a player agent, even if they are not created or are rated very low. It is more admin work, but it would help avoid these long-term low-value contracts that aren't beneficial to the player at all.

This contract isn’t that scenario tho— if he had been drafted in R2, his salary would be $900k less over this same time period than what I’m offering. I also didn’t go for four years here to try to dick the player over— in three years, Henry will be 24 and for all I know he’s like Terrance Mann and I can’t keep him.

Rules around bidding on non-created players I've clarified, and the rules are already aligned with that. Like you guys I don't have a problem with RSFA continuing during OSFA. I've specified that in the Rules now dynasty5ive.proboards.com/post/111392/thread
