Minnesota Trades: 83 Tyreke Evans $4,151,640 $5,251,825 $6,927,157
Total Outgoing: $4,151,640 Total Incoming: $4,443,360
Atlanta Trades: 76 Derrick Favors $4,443,360 $4,753,320 $6,008,196 $7,882,754
Total Outgoing: $4,443,360 Total Incoming: $4,151,640
If you wanna use salaries for next year it works out fine too, w/in $500,000 of each other, so no big deal processing this.
So, for me, what this comes down to is: I simply believe Favors will be a better player than Tyreke. I lose ratings right now, but it is worth it to me to get a future stud to pair with Love. Favors is turning into more and more of a defensive presence IRL (2.5 blocks a game right now...7.3 rebounds in only 24 mpg), and he's proven when given minutes before that he is legitimate.
Both guys were top 4 picks in b2b Drafts (Tyreke #4 in '09, Favors #3 in '10).
This leaves me with a bit of a hole at SG or SF right now, but I'm confident I can either Trade Hickson for one of those positions, or sign someone for at least this season.

I agree.
I like Favors and think the guy has a lot of potential. But with JJ gone I had a hole to fill @ SG and Tyreke can fill it. With Tyreke and Maggs I hve the luxury of switching them around to see who's a better fit @ SG and SF.

I'm actually gonna reject this one. With Tyreke Evans I think of things like this thread on Real GM: Whereas with Derrick Favors, you've got a guy averaging nearly a double-double on 24 minutes per game.

Coaching is an issue with the Kings. Tyreke made a big improvement towards the end of last season, when Isaiah Thomas was allowed to run the offense.
Now they have Tyreke dominating the ball again, and no, it's not working.
Top 5 picks just one year separate from each other. Tyreke has already proven to have the ability to put up 20-5-5, and I give up a good chunk of Sim performance in the way of Rating Points right now too.
I agree Favors has good upside, but right now there are 4 PF/C in Utah that all deserve minutes, and he's not better than the 3rd option just in the post. Oh, and, 7.3 rebounds is not almost 10. It shows he would likely get a double double with 32-36 minutes, but he's not at almost 10 rebounds, thus not at almost a double double, in his 24 minutes.
Bottom line, I don't see how 8 games this season trumps his 200 game career total, where he is still averaging 18/5/5 with almost 1.5 steals a game from a guy just over 23 years of age.

I disagree with Boston here, and definitely think Atlanta wins big time in this deal. Tyreke has shown he can carry a team, whereas Favors is doomed to be the 4th best big man (Jefferson, Millsap, Kanter) on a mediocre team for the next few years.
Anyway, its probably unfair but I'll accept because it seems realistic enough

I'm having a hard time with this one. I think Favors has a lot of upside and Tyreke is already proven to be a nice player at age 23. However there are a few things that stand out. The first being Kevin Love playing Center. Something about that always irked me and I don't know why. I always think of him as a 4 and playing the 5 limited but not full time. If this trade were to happen then Love would be moved to the 5 full time. I think that limits his ability to step outside more so when he plays the 4.
The second issue I have with this trade is Favors being stuck behind a ton of front court depth in Utah. While I think he could outshine Millsap and Jefferson in a year or two, it's still a toss up whether the coaches even want to play their younger players.
Anyways I'm going to accept this deal because of a few things. Although Favors is playing nice, he's still stuck behind a lot of people in Utah. Hopefully that changes. Also, Evans, while struggling, has proven he still has some value, and he's still pretty young, so there is still a chance for improvement.
I accept.

Since this trade is between committee members we'll go with 2 accepts.
Trade passed.

On the whole Favors and Love and their ability to play Center...vs. you thinking they are both PF's basically. Just wanted to point out a couple things. Last year Favors started 5 games at Center: 34mpg - 16 points - 11 rebounds - 51.7% shooting, 76% from the line. Seemed to handle Center pretty well. He's got some meat on his bones. 6'10" and somewhere in the 250-260 lb range means he can bang with most C's in the league. Definitely showing the ability this year to be more of a defensive presence as well, so overall, I'm comfortable with him playing Center for me if I go that route. Last year Love started 7 games at Center: 40mpg - 30.6 points - 14 rebounds - 1 block, 46.6% FG...45.5% from 3! Which was higher than his 35.7% as a PF...2.7Assists, about one more than as a PF. Probably, partially, just during a hot streak for Love where he ended up starting at C a bit, but most C's are even more reluctant to come out to guard 3pt land than PF's are, so that would play in Love's favor at C, no?

I think Minnesota cleans up in this trade. Tyreke Evans is not very good at basketball and if Favors ever gets in a position to play 30+ mpg he is going to tear it up.
