Orlando Magic Trade:87 Rudy Gobert $31,197,382 $33,107,426Total salary sent: $31,197,382 Team salary after trade: $117,591,343 Sacramento Kings Trade:80 Brook Lopez $18,000,000 $18,000,000 78 Seth Curry $8,000,000 $8,000,000 79 Jonathan Isaac $7,522,460 64 KZ Okpala $934,234 BKN 2022 1st Total salary sent: $34,456,694 Team salary after trade: $155,847,345 I accept. This was a big move for us as I've been testing the market for Gobert for some time now. Although Rudy has been our star player for many seasons, we felt as though our ceiling was capped. Since he does not come with BRs, most teams weren't willing to offer what I viewed as an appropriate price. While this package isn't ideal, I think it puts us in a more positive direction with more flexibility, given there's a decent chance Rudy opts out next season. We can remain competitive with Lopez slotting into Gobert's role and Curry replacing Clarkson, while still keeping an eye on the future by adding Isaac, Okpala and the BKN 1st. Amare Stoudemire

I'm hoping I can write a nice letter to the pa board and get Rudy to opt in and take the 10 year super Max 2 seasons from now when I have the cap space. Gobert is incredible and helps us defensively! It also solves me having to many players on my roster as long with the news of Issac not have a return date yet I didn't want to pay him and the Brooklyn 1st will no doubt be high 20s so I look at this as getting rid of salary at the least and getting a great player to anchor are defense and will see what happens as the year goes on!

I actually think, all things considered, this is a pretty decent package for Gobert. Yes the 1st is late, but it's still a 1st. Yes Isaac has an injury, but he's got very nice upside and has shown a lot already. Even Okpala is kind of interesting.
People generally are not building around Pure, Old-School Centers like Gobert, even though he's currently the best of the best in that category, so I think this is solid all around.
Accept.

It's going to be a different conference in 2-3 years when Brooklyn and Boston tear it down.
