New Orleans receives: '23 PHX 1st Phoenix receives: Draft rights to Alperen Sengun I accept. I don't normally like to move a 1st without having another already secured in that year but I feel this one is well worth it. I am very high on Sengun & feel his ceiling is higher than some may think. Brian Scalabrine

I accept.
I am all in Alperen Sengun and think he will be an amazing offensive player, able to pass, shoot and score, as he showed in summer league. I am very conflicted about this trade and can easily see myself regretting it.
However given my investment in JJJ and Xavier Tillman, Sengun doesn't have the clearest spot on my team and it's probably better to shift resources elsewhere

I am not a TC member but IMO I feel that a GMs first trade should not be to send away the #1 value league-wide future 1st for a player that was drafted #16 overall and #10 in D5.
Edit: Well, this aged poorly.

I want to accept, because every GM dreams of landing the most likely highest pick in the draft like this, from a new GM with no history of success, but oh my god this trade sucks for Phoenix.

I like this for Phoenix. In couple of years they are likely already out of the bottom. Either late lottery or playoffs. And Sengun is going to be much better than his draft position. Top 6 talent in this draft imo.

Even if Sengun hits, there's something to be said about maximizing the value of assets. This is sort of doing the opposite.
Been a while since I stood on my 1st Rd pick high horse but damn - Reject

Accept. This is way less risky now with SGA and Bridges making a core in PHX. This was borderline rejectable before when the Suns had a projectable top 5 pick for 2023.

Accept, I like the trade with Spurs for SGA, and now this. It makes sense to me

I am going to reject.
The other Phoenix trades don't seem so bad so long as he keeps this 1st he's trying to get rid of for "pennies on the dollar".

Accept assuming the other trades hold. If SGA and Mikal are on the roster, there are at least clear starters in the future on BRs. Could still end up lotto but I like Sengun.
