Spurs Salary Out: $34,051,700
Memphis Salary Out: $31,285,000
The Memphis Grizzlies are not known for blockbuster trades however in our quest for a title we felt that our roster was just a bit too imbalanced despite our historical commitment to the twin towers approach. With this trade we acquire an extremely good wing that can also play power forward, as well as a former top 4 pick in Patrick Williams who is coming off a very promising rookie season. With Jokic cementing himself as the top player in the NBA we felt we were able to make this move in response to our recent injury issues that exposed our shallow depth.

Out of character: Full disclosure I almost puked posting this, I commit to my guys but I truly think this is going to work out great for my team.

I accept. Giving up two very good wings— including one still on his rookie scale in Patrick Williams— is a tall order, but adding a big of KAT’s caliber is worth it to balance out our own roster. Rolling out a trio of Doncic, SGA, and KAT, all under Bird Rights and controllable for the foreseeable future is a big step for our franchise towards what we hope is perennial playoff contention. Leonard will be useful depth for one season before his contract rolls off the books. This deal also increases our OSFA cap room as well to a shade under $53 MM, which is plenty to play with.

Wow well done Gervin, easy winners here.
I was surprised you were willing to throw that much money at Tobi last off season, but he's had a good year at Philly IRL and you managed to flip him for someone far more valuable. Bravo.
I accept.

Amazing deal, not a huge fan of Harris to be honest but he did have a great year Philly.
I accept

Patrick Williams is a promising prospect but like Bryan above me, not a fan of Tobias - especially at that contract. I think KAT has more value than Harris and Williams but that's my opinion... Mostly because I just don't like Harris at that contract

I can understand it from both sides, and these are two well-established GMs with great pieces on each team after the trade.
Accept.

Spurs absolutely murder this trade I think that you have to look at the context to to make this judgement. Look at the available players that would come with bird rights that play either SF/PF or PG (my two biggest needs) that also have the extra pieces to make the deal more fair. I literally get an allstar wing AND the top 5 pick wing coming off an extremely efficient rookie year that can take their place after this contract is over. Tobias Harris is also the top 6 in VORP and top 7 in WS in his class better than Klay Thompson. Harris is one of the most criminally underrated players in the NBA, Harris is in the top 20 for defensive rating and for defensive win shares as well as top 20 for FT percentage. If you ask me this is one of the most win/win trades we've had in this league (I've never tried trade raping people like Ian does), two teams trying to compete filling a major need on their team, lets not act like in two years that the biggest thing people would use against my resigning of Jokic wouldn't be that I hadn't committed to him enough because I still had Towns. Next season my team is going to be top to bottom stacked with great players AND in my opinion the arguably top player in the NBA and assuming good health I think that our team is a slam dunk to at least make conference finals and then its just sim gods up to decide which is what we're ALL aiming for.

I hate it for Memphis because it feels their window shortens significantly, but Tobias did have a pretty good season and Patrick Williams is pretty nice too. It does make the Grizzlies feel more balanced as a team so I guess it makes sense on some level.
Accept.
