After a very long bidding process, with multiple teams stepping in and stepping out of their offers with Jason, we have decided to go with a team that has been greatly improved this off-season. This team has a young PG we'd like to mentor, and this team has plenty of PT available at the backup PG/SG positions.
Jason has signed with the Portland Trailblazers!
Year 1: $3,000,000 Year 2: $3,000,000
Total: $6,000,000
Thank you to all the teams interested in Jason's services throughout this process.

We offered more money and the chance for him to START at PG. Smh. We even had a trade lined up to move Ridnour.

Not much more money, and money was really not the big factor to be honest, at least when it was as close as that. Portland offered a better situation, plain and simple.
Also, not sure how you are going to have 78 rated Jason Kidd (he is going down) start over 79 rated Conley (who should be rated higher than 79 btw).
As we said, it was a long, tough decision, but Jason wanted to play with Duncan and that team more, so he went there.

Would have really wanted Kidd on our team and it just sucks because waiting for him to make his decision kinda screwed us over on any other remaining PGs. But I understand how hard it is to be a player agent in a sim league. I got shit from a lot of people for having Boozer resign with Utah in a sim league, instead of a better team lol

Is this even cap-legal at this point? Not sure if I'm right, but at Portland's current roster, I have him pegged at $58,745,207 and this would take them to almost 62M when as far as interpretation of the MLE has gone, they shouldn't have one.

Utah has already used an MLE he "shouldn't" have.
Check out Ian's post on the MLE in Admin Announcements. He let a couple slide through by accident, so for this year, teams are getting an MLE even if they shouldn't have had one under normal rules.

Definitely not a fan of that decision but I guess what's done is done. I personally think the signings should have just been rolled back to a point, but that's just me.

You had a good situation, Portland just had a better one IMO. You definitely could have made other offers on other PGs and tried to at least suggest that Kidd was your #1 priority, type of thing. Anyway, sorry it worked out this way. No way to please everyone, of course.
