Since my team has decided to win a little more than I expected, I think it’s time for me to put in a few stock watches. season: 17.9 pts / 4.4 reb / 2.6 ast / 1.1 stl PER 36: 20.7 pts / 5.0 reb / 3.0 ast / 1.2 stl This doesn’t really tell the full story though. He has improved since the firing of Ryan Saunders / hiring of Chris Finch. Since hiring Chris Finch: 23.8 pts / 5.4 reb / 2.9 ast / 1.6 stl Random fact: he currently holds the longest active NBA streak with at least 1 steal Current rating: 76 Suggested rating: 81 NBA 2k21 rating: 81. I don’t think this is totally relevant, but I think the rating systems are close enough to use as a guideline. www.2kratings.com/anthony-edwards

I see you left out his percentages lol 78 from me, that Timberwolves team has gotta be one of the worst teams I’ve seen in recent memory I did. They’re not good, but they’ve gotten better. I’ve watched a lot of TWolves games and can tell you that it’s partly due to him not getting any benefit of the whistle, at least not as much as he should. His shot selection isn’t great either, obviously, but it’s all improving and it’s showing. Season: .400 fg% (16.5 FGA) / .315 3P% / .79 ft% Hiring of Finch: .430 fg% (20.1 FGA) / .314 3P% / .786 ft% His field goal attempts have gone up nearly 4 shots a game and his % is better.

Just curious how you guys rationalize voting guys like Derrick White 78s and turn around and vote Anthony Edwards the same?
Derrick White’s numbers are worse than Anthony Edwards’ with nearly identical %s. How does that work?

Is not in the worst team in the NBA, has a winning record, plays defense and doesn't shoot 40% from the field and 30% from 3. People need to understand that it isn't about who was picked higher or is going to be better in 3 years. It's about who's the better basketball player right now

First of all, the whole “team has a better record” argument is garbage. Josh should know that from all of those Booker threads. Derrick White is shooting .401% on the year with .326 3P%. You would think with him being on a better team his % would be better, especially considering he’s at best the 3-4th option on offense. Should lead to better looks on offense, yet like I said, his %s are nearly identical to Edwards’.

78 Andrei Kirilenko hit the salient point here with Edwards— raw counting stats look good, but when you take into account how he gets to them from an efficiency standpoint, it muddles the picture a bit. I don’t think he’s quite in that low 80s tier until he shows he can average more points than shot attempts.

Saying that the team has a better record argument is garbage it's so dumb it's hard to put into words. Where is the KAT 99 thread then? I guess Terrence Ross is an 85 since he scores as much as Edwards and plays better defense than him, doesn't matter he is on the Magic.
Anyhow, Derrick White precentages last season were 46/37/85, maybe Edwards can get there on year 5.
Also here's their defense according to LEBRON Anthony Edwards is literally the worst defender in the Wolves at -2.25, even DLo that is trash on defense is -1.67.
So where do you want those points to go? I'll even give more data.
Ant is the only player on the Wolves with negative losses added. NEGATIVE. Even Jake Layman adds 0.30. If you want to reproduce empty stats on a bad team in D5 you don't need t a high build, just look at TJ Leaf with the Suns.
If you go to wins added Anthony Edwards is the 5th worse with at least 1000 minutes, that's how bad he is. Guys like Sterling Brown, Reggie Bullock, Cedi Osman and Isaiah Roby all contribute more to winning than him.
But if winning doesn't matter just and you just want to give him real life stats it's simple. Put a 5 star primacy on him like the Wolves do and 3 or lower on anyone else since KAT is injured half the time and he'll score 18 points on 40% shooting

78.5.
When he gets good at basketball and starts contributing anything to winning games, and not just benefiting from high usage on a garbage team, then he'll deserve an 80+ rating. Until then he maxes out in the high 70s imo.
