Man oh man, I had the toughest luck here in D5. I was confident I feel like I constructed teams which are real contenders but due to a series of injuries and other factors I could not explain, my teams have not played to their true potential. My team for this season is not different as it continues to struggle rather than compete for a playoff spot.
I really like Vucevic and I traded for him with the intention of re-signing Kawhi. But even if I was not able to re-sign Kawhi, I thought I'd still be able to compete with Lillard and Vuc as my main duo. However, since it did not materialize the way I wanted it to be, I'm giving up Vuc for more depth to surround Lillard with and hope to save this season. I do not want to go down without a fight so I'll see how this trade shake things up.

Tom is right, this trade is illegal. Sacramento is only about $3 million under the hard cap, this trade would add about 5.5m to the Kings' figure.

I think once signings and releases complete we can allow this trade but I need to put in place some concrete rules because signing/cutting 4 players just to make a trade is not ideal imho

Ian Noble I'm confused as to how this trade suddenly became legal, but MCW also actually can't be traded yet due to the James Kay rule as he was signed earlier this month. Yes this trade has been a total mess from the start. It's mainly my fault for allowing the bending of the two player sign/release rule, merely because it's something I don't remember ever enforcing, but to be honest we may never have had to enforce it and that's why it should have applied anyway. There's also the messed up chronology of events. Sure - Sacramento makes this trade and stays under the Hard Cap, allowing them to sign some minimum players even though they go over the Hard Cap. But the actual timing of those events means that Sacramento has to first sign the players, going over the Hard Cap and violating that rule, and THEN making the trade. This method should've been illegal by default. Add to that the fact that it required re-working twice... ergh! In fact, Shane Battier and Amare Stoudemire, I would very much like to cancel this trade, it violates or closely violates far too many protocols. |
