First and foremost we needed the Franchise Back! It just hasn't been the same these first 6 games without Demar.
In all seriousness I've been looking for a way to flip these expirings in Bledsoe and holmes to improve my starting 5.
Their were very few teams that fit but after about 5 days of talks with several teams and of course the personal connection with DeRozan it just makes sense.
This gives me a very stellar offensive and defensive team and hopefully vaults us up to fight for a western Conference Title again.

DeMar has been playing great for me. Those skills would fit better on a team like the Kings.
He has a big contract for next season. This trade relieves me of that while also providing two good players in return. Bledsoe was all defensive second team this past season. Holmes is a big who is averaging close to a double-double in points and rebounds. Amare will amend the trade, releasing Musa and Schoefield then sending those contracts to me.
