Running on new hardwareEverything is ok but the 11 year old PC that has simmed everything we do in D5 has died! Rest in peace, D5 PC! It was only 1 month ago I actually posted on Instagram to celebrate its 11 year birthday The full story: Yesterday I drove 11 hours from my parents house near St Andrews in Scotland all the way back to Falmouth in Cornwall and whilst unloading my car I stupidly dropped the PC tower and it smashed all over the road The motherboard actually split in places, especially around where the CPU fan attaches which would mean gravity (and a lot of thermal paste) would be my heatsink. It is definitely dead. Incredibly the hard drive is still alive and I managed to salvage it! Using my housemate's even slower Windows 10 laptop I can still boot from the drive whilst it runs in an enclosure and everything D5 still works. Obviously I do keep a continuous backup of everything on my personal Microsoft OneDrive, so no matter what D5 is always in good hands, but I'll have to save for a while to eventually replace the old PC. Mostly though I'm going to miss the old PC. After 11 years it's seen D5 through everything and has been solid as a rock. Rest in peace, old D5 simmer

Damn, that's a bummer. Could you possibly just replace the motherboard and cpu? Or will you just get everything new?

Damn, that's a bummer. Could you possibly just replace the motherboard and cpu? Or will you just get everything new? The PC's been running for a decade and the only thing I had to replace was the PSU, which is a hell of a track record, but the time to replace it was nearing anyway, so I think it's time to finally upgrade! At least with a new machine I'll have a graphics card able to play any of the NBA2k games after 2018
