For those who might be interested, here is my big ass spreadsheet for this year. These rankings only include my college guys because international guys don't have the same stats available. There are 150 guys but only my top 60 are ranked, and I made three tiers this year. Once you get into the late-lottery and late first round I think players become so interchangeable and the rankings stop being so meaningful. To me the gap from #3 to #8 is bigger than the gap from #8 to #20 or from #20 to #50. Most guys outside the top 20 or so will probably suck anyway unless they can find one or two things they do really well, so I don't worry about it too much. Anyway, here it is:

Maybe a dumb question, but is this spreadsheet sorted by anything in particular based on the data pulled? Or are the rankings just your own personal rankings

The top 60 are my personal rankings. Guys from 61-150 are just listed alphabetically.

Not a dumb question: Are you in charge of the Phoenix Suns IRL?

What’s the point of all these stats if there’s no formula for ranking lol Based on my opinion using these stats and game film. I could make a model, but don't think it would be that useful. Basic regression models tend to be pretty dumb for something as complicated as this, especially without athletic data. Even with all the data in the world sometimes objectively worse performing players are better prospects. Any model I made probably wouldn't even have Patrick Williams in the top 200. This is definitely an art as much as a science. I find it really useful to have everything in one place where I can make direct comparisons. I use the stats to filter for effective players, then the eye test to guess who can make the jump to the NBA.

Where was Ball in your big board in general had you had a top pick? This was my top 10 overall: 1 - Onyeka Okongwu 2 - James Wiseman 3 - Devin Vassell 4 - Killian Hayes 5 - Deni Avdija 6 - Tyrese Haliburton 7 - Isaac Okoro 8 - LaMelo Ball 9 - Obi Toppin 10 - Anthony Edwards

I see Okongwu as a bit of a safe prospect. Solid future player, but limited upside.
I like that this is a unique take, though. Not your typical chalk big board which is refreshing to see. The draft is such a crap shoot, so it'll be fun to see how this all shakes out.
Also, I guess I wanted Nesmith more than you lol. I had him in my top 10

Difference between 1st and 10th is pretty huge...

Difference between 1st and 10th is pretty huge... He's just another example of a player that passes the eye test but isn't actually good at basketball. He's a low IQ, inefficient volume scorer that hasn't shown the ability to do much else. He's not a good rebounder, not a playmaker yet still turns the ball over a lot (his AS/TO ratio is awful). He's a poor, lazy defender too. The only thing he's shown he's good at is taking shots, but he hasn't shown he's good at making shots yet. So all in all he's a scorer that isn't very good at scoring. All that being said though, he has all the physical tools. He has the highest ceiling in this draft class. How much money would you bet on him reaching his potential though? When you have as many red flags as he does I can't help but be skeptical. He makes me think of Michael Beasley. Some nights he's probably going to go off and look like a superstar, but for the most part I doubt he'll ever be a winning team's best player.
