Clippers trade
2024 LAC 1st round pick
Pelicans trade
8
I accept. I have too many picks this year. It's better to push this one out to the future

I accept. We are rebuilding now and the 2024 draft is a long way out. Should be able to pick up a young, long term rebuild piece with the #8 pick.

This is technically hit by the same rule as the Kings trade. 2020 to 2024 spans 5 drafts so they can't be involved in the same trade. In this case it's just a formality though, the player's draft rights get traded instead of the pick itself. It makes no difference in the end.
Accept.

I don't think you can trade 2024 picks yet, they aren't on the Draft Rights page yet. You could pick the 8th and trade it after the Salaries and Draft Rights roll over, but right now I don't think this is legal right now.

No reason not to do this and finalize the deal as soon as the year rolls over then, correct? Do we need to submit it any way different to accommodate this variable?

Have Brian make the pick then you can post it as Draft Rights to (#8 whoever you take) for the 2024.

Since the Draft has started we can call it within 4 years of the 2024 Draft.
I've added an extra column to the Draft Rights list.
I accept the deal.

Great news that it can stand as is!

Yeah whether I should have allowed it though, that's a question for when I haven't been suffering with a virus for 7 days straight
