Outside of the top 3, I would have gone with Hayes as well. Solid pick

Tim just brought up a good point on discord that Reggie Miller hasn't logged in nearly 2 months and is picking in around 5 days. Does anyone know him outside of d5?

Nah, he's been gone from the other league I'm in with him and I haven't heard from him in a while! We replaced him in that league already

Alright now that I’ve got the all clear, I’m not going to drag out the clock for the sake of it lol. With the 8th pick, the Spurs are happy to select Patrick Williams from Florida State University! Kareem Abdul-Jabbar OTC Jared Montini on deck

It's interesting how high Patrick Williams rose in the draft. He didn't start a single game in college, and wasn't even that good playing off the bench. He's just raw potential right now and it'll probably take him years to become a good NBA player, if he ever does.

To me the raw physical profile, his age, and the basketball IQ were all worth the swing at #8. Agreed it’s a high risk move, but to me after the top 3 players he had the highest upside left.

For sure, sometimes it works out great and you get a Giannis, but sometimes you get a Kevin Knox. Someone has to take the risk though. Not related, but also I disagree on this consensus top 3 idea. Edwards and Ball have such huge red flags in their game, and there are some 'tier 2' guys I like much more. Only time will tell, as always.

Have we ever had an unowned team be on the clock before? I don't have the power to make any decisions on this, but why not just give the Knicks to Arvydas Sabonis? Nobody else has said they want the job. He has more than 1400 posts in the 720 league, which is more than many long time tenured GMs have here, and he's been there since 2016. That seems like evidence enough for me of being actively committed. We can solve the problem now and just let him pick the guy he really wants, instead of picking on behalf of the future Knicks GM... that will probably be him anyway.

I believe when I took over the Kings, we were in the middle of the draft, and Bam Adebayo was automatically selected. I could be wrong though

Since Arvydas Sabonis is the only applicant for the Knicks job so far I have asked him for his input, since it's worth as much as my own. If we don't hear back from him before his time expires then the Knicks can pick the highest remaining player: Jalen Smith.
