We would like to announce that Luis Amundson has agreed to sign with the Chicago Bulls for :
Year 1: $500,000 Year 2: $1,000,000 Year 3: $1,500,000 (Player Option)
Total: $3,000,000
Luis is happy to be joining a strong contender in the East.

Not to be a twat, but is this contract legal? because I've been browsing around the rules, and while it's a small contract and probably shouldn't bother me as much, it doesn't exactly follow this particular rule.
Or is there some other rule governing under 1m contracts? I'm just bringing it up cause it would open the gates for a lot of back-loaded deals.

I wouldn't really consider it a back loaded deal, especially since it's a player option year in which Chicago's salary situation will be much different then it is now. And he's only increasing by 500,000 each year.

well yeah, it's only 500,000. But it's still way over the 11% limit that the rule states since it's increasing 100% every year.

Well I assumed it passed since Ian put him in the database already. It's already hard enough keeping up with all the offers in free agency, it's up to the GM's offering money to free agents that it's the correct amount because us player agents have a bunch of other stuff to worry about. We'll have to see what Ian says about this.

Glenn, I know you're new but this
is not OK. It is hard being a Player Agent, but you gotta do your job right.
I think there should probably be an amendment that says a salary can increase by 500k OR 11%, whichever is larger.

I've amended the OSFA regulations: $500,000 is close enough to the league minimum for me to allow this deal to stay as it is, but all future offers must stick to the league minimum.

I wouldn't be against an amendment like that, considering that it would only really matter up to the current MLE. Cause to be honest, this is a pretty harmless contract, just really afraid of what gates it could open.

Glenn, I formally apologize here. I probably stepped out of line a little bit posting that in this thread. Sorry.

I like the amendment, good deal. Harmless thing really, but eliminates any small questions there could be about an offer like this.

I always understood that it was a maximum of 11% or 500k increases, whichever is greater. Wasn't that the rule in the old D5?
