With one IRL Wizards player on my squad with a stockwatch (Rui), kind of feels fitting to recognize the play of my other Wizards player, Mo Wagner, who before his ankle injury was one of the League’s rising talents offensively on a per minute basis. Some stats to frame up Wagner’s mini-leap this year with actual minutes:
Now Wagner definitely has his shortcomings; while he isn’t Rui level bad on defense, he is not a great defender by any means, and his foul rate (3.7) in his 20 MPG is abysmal, but he is at least making the effort on that end. He has been a pleasant surprise though is as an offensive microwave, which the Wizards ironically have several players (Hachimura, Thomas Bryant, Wagner, Troy Brown Jr., Davis Bertans) who fit that bill but do little on the other end of the floor.
In short, he’s punching above his current 70 rating, but he has real limitations despite the per minute numbers that make him less impactful than other per minute bigs, like Zubac and Mitch Rob.

- 58/36/79 shooting splits from FG/3PT/FT, which is not bad at all for a 6’11” PF/C
- 11.1 PPG/5.7 RPG/1.3 APG with 0.5 BPG and SPG as well in just 20 MPG for the Wizards
- 17.5 PER with 66% TS and a decent WS (1.2) for a player who is logging roughly 4-5 mins a quarter
