I accept, it's a slight downgrade in terms of quality, and obviously Harrison Barnes contract is something I won't be able to move on from, but I still have a good chance of competing and winning in the first round in the playoffs while not adding longer contracts to my salary page and receiving a First Round Pick and two Second Round Picks in the process.

Pretty surprised by this for Milwaukee, seems like he should be getting a 1st, not giving one up

Accept.
I felt Roco was worth a 2020 late 1st, and I still have the Hawks pick this year to obtain another prospect. Gasol is expiring and I didn't have any intention of bringing him back as I think Turner is the future and he needs to start getting reps and know we have confidence in him moving forward.

Accept. I agree that Milwaukee should probably be getting something instead of giving something up for RoCo, but it won't kill em. Nothing bad enough to reject.

I love this for Miami and Portland. Not so much for Milwaukee though as they are taking on salary while giving up a 1st I get where you are coming from, as most teams that take on salary also don't give up compensation, but I think this trade is pretty different from that aspect. Gasol wasn't going to be brought back regardless. I'm essentially getting Roco in his place. Even with Gasol gone I wouldn't have been able to sign anyone as good as Roco in free agency with cap. And that late 1st probably won't be as good as Roco either. I've also got a guy in Turner to slide into the starting spot who likely matches or exceeds what Gasol was doing anyways. It really comes down to would you rather have Gasol and a late 1st the rest of the season or Robert Covington and the ability to slide in a better replacement at center in Turner?

If Mike Conley has been passed around, then RoCo has become a nomad— it’s his fifth team now in the last two seasons. NYK, then signed by Cleveland, and now spent time in Sacramento, Portland, and Milwaukee.
