It pains me to do this as a Spartan, but I was doing research today and saw these numbers.
He's played 33 games this year and averages:
29.1 MPG
8.3 PPG 6.3 RPG 5.5 APG
38.4% FG 27.3% 3PT
12.17 PER
He's regressed a lot this year, and I think that's partially because he isn't playing with Steph and Klay. But we're finally seeing what he's capable of on his own.
Current: 85 Suggested: 79

Are we really rating a good defender with over 5 assists and 5 rebounds per game a 79?
83, think he is the definition of a role player in a bad situation.

He’s never been an offensive focal point, or any scoring option better than 4th in his best years. To Jerry’s point, he still is good defensively (not his peak, but a 90 percentile type), and he doesn’t feel like a high 70s guy

He defends well and is a good play maker for a big man but what else does he do? High 70s for a solid role player without an offensive game seems appropriate to me.

I think this is kinda wrong to do. Draymond is a really good player.
He went from a perennial DPOY candidate on the best team in the league for like 4-5 seasons straight.
Did he drop off a cliff? Or did the team fall apart and now he’s on the worst team in the entire NBA.
For a player whose game is centered around elevating the game of other players, seeing his numbers drop when he plays with a bunch of g leaguers is not surprising in the slightest.
Idk I don’t support this at all.

He's on the worst team in the entire NBA and yet his production has fallen off a cliff, not increased, and you don't support him dropping from an 85? He's currently rated higher than:
Jaylen Brown Jamal Murray Montrezl Harrell John Collins Zach Lavine DeAndre Ayton Kevin Love DeAndre Jordan (rated 79 while averaging 8 PPG/9 RPG/2 APG in 21 minutes with a 20.55 PER) Jaren Jackson Jr Gordon Hayward Trae Young Myles Turner (rated 79 while averaging 12 PPG/6 RPG/2 BPG in 29 minutes with a 15.05 PER while shooting 45% FG and 33% 3PT) Hassan Whiteside Aaron Gordon Buddy Hield Al Horford Kyle Kuzma Derrick Rose Tristan Thompson Eric Bledsoe SGA Bam Adebayo Andrew Wiggins DeAngelo Russell
And the same as:
Chris Paul CJ McCollum Kyle Lowry Clint Capela Steven Adams Demontas Sabonis Donovan Mitchell Klay Thompson Brandon Ingram

Don't take this the wrong way, but you lost all credibility with Kuzma on that list

Don't take this the wrong way, but you lost all credibility with Kuzma on that list 😂 Kuzma is averaging 13 PPG/4 RPG while shooting 43% FG and 34% 3PT in 25 MPG with a 12.0 PER. He's not great, that's for sure. But he is scoring more and shooting better than Draymond while being like the...idk, 4th option? Of course Draymond's elite defense and unique playmaking make up for that, but again, my only point is that he's not an 85.

Yeah how is that better than Draymond? He is a better defender better rebounder better passer better teammate, not to mention defences actually close out on him unlike Kuzma.
Or Kuzma playing the same defense of a chair doesn't matter? Both KCP and Danny Green have been more important to the Lakers this year than Kuzma, might as well had them to the list

I'm not saying he's better than Draymond. I just threw him on there because I was quickly going through the list. But again, my point is he's not playing like an 85

Draymond can only play well around other stars. That should 100% be used against him. Dudes got literally 0 offensive game and his defense isn’t as good as his peak. He may not be trying as hard this season but we have to go by what the guys doing this season

I’m all for an increase if he balls out when curry and Klay are back but he doesn’t have those guys in D5 so he shouldn’t be an 85

I'm somewhere in the middle, but much closer to where James and those people are.
I do think we should be rating based on their real-life impact, and his is clearly suffering. However, there are pretty obvious reasons, and he's a specific type of player, so that's why I won't go near as low as those 70's people are going.
I'll go 83.5

82.
He goes from being able to focus on his strengths to being the best player left on an injured team who is being asked to do a lot of things he’s not the best at.
