So I just got hit with the stat that KP is shooting below 40% from the field and only shot over 50% twice the whole year (this man is 7'3).
That is kinda crazy for a player that we have rated has a bonafide star. Not that he wont reach that level, but right now after the injury he simply isnt there like Walt mentioned multiple times, we cant just raise him later when he gets back to form.
KP stats: 17.0 - 9.4 - 1.4 (1.7 TO) - 2.1 - 0.6
Shooting splits: .397 - .335 - .727 all career lows except his 3 point percentage that is better than it was in his rookie year. (.503 TS%)
Despite his usage % being the 2nd highest it ever was in his career, his W/S48 is at the lowest ever. And so is his OBPM and BPM (-1.6). Also his PER 16.3, an all time low, which would rate him has a slightly above average player, yikes.
For whatever that's worth he is still an excellent shot blocker, altought most of it more due to his size than skill. And his block % is the lowest in the top 10 blockers after AD and Drummond.

KP’s season has been part weird, part sad. It’s almost like he really wants to be a 7’3” shooting guard with his aversion to rebounding and affinity for the deep shot, but he’s just not that kind of player. It’s also clear he is still on the road back from this knee injury.
With all that said, a knock back is in order based on his play. If he returns to NYK KP, a stock up is warranted, but right now he’s anything but that.

We’ve typically rated elite level defensive big men as an 85 (DeAndre, Adams, Capela), so I am going to go 86 as he has been elite defensively and is a little more offensively talented than those guys.
Yea he has struggled shooting to start the year but he’s also been battling injuries. I expected a decrease thread sooner or later, and it’s true he isn’t playing at his previous level, but just want to encourage people to look not only at his shooting splits but at the full impact he brings.

He's a tough rate.
His 3pt shot and blocks, with some steals too, make up for a lot.
If we're going to compare him to prime DeAndre / current Capela we should add that, at least currently, Capela has WAY more rebounds, much much higher FG% but of course they're super different players. Just saying, for rating purposes, there's a lot to think about.
I'll go 85.
If things don't turn around by later in the season, I could go lower.
If they DO turn around by later in the season, I'd go back up.
