This was a classic case of "bad press is better than no press" as the recent Charlotte fiasco revived a buzz around McLemore, allowed him to secure the exact contract he was looking for all along. He steps in as the only NBA-calibre bench player on the Rockets, which should really maximize his potential and playtime. It is reported that his agent, now revered by many for this ingenious move, negotiated a back-clause into the deal to receive 75% of the contract value into his personal bank account over the next 2 years.
