Ivica had 4 suitors during this OSFA Process, but one team came in with a very strong offer as soon as they entered the fray, and never wavered. We had one other team offer basically the same contract, but at some pint they pivoted to another target, so this ended up being pretty easy. We have mainly been waiting to see if another offer would come in after Nurkic signed, but we've waited long enough. Here's the contract: DALLAS MAVERICKS
Year 1: $9,258,000 Year 2: $10,156,310 Year 3: $11,054,620 Year 4: $11,952,930
Total: $42,421,860 This is using the MLE for the Mavs. As for the fit and everything else - the effort was about the same as anyone else, so that wasn't a factor. The money, as mentioned, was as good as anything else offered. The team has an opening at the 5, and in fact have promised ( Ian Noble) him the job of Starting Center from Day 1. The Mavs also presented the allure of the Post-Dirk era, and keeping that European flavor going in Dallas is something that's a little fun. As I said, based on the offers, this was pretty clear and easy for Ivica, especially when no further offers came in. Congrats Danny Longley
