Cheik was very happy during the negotiation process because three teams saw his value. It was the answer for all his hardworks in the past few years.
The bidding war was too hot to handle to extend, thus we made our decision. Cheik will sign with the Dallas Mavericks with the following contract:
Year 1: $4,331,311
Year 2: $3,500,000
Year 3: $2,668,689 Total = $10,500,000
We first want to thank the Philadelphia 76ers for their sustained pursuit but at the end, Dallas made an offer that was too hard to resist.
The runner-up was the New Orleans Pelicans who was the first one to make a pitch. He has an awesome young core and it could have been much closer if his $10 Million contract was 3 years not 4 years.
Other than the money involve, Dallas provides the clearest path to minutes and they have good veterans to learn from.
Congratulations Danny!

This instance actually gives me pause to think - because currently you're under the cap!
