Current = 92 Suggested = 88
Since we are in the season of incremental decreases, CP3 seems to be a prime candidate. I'll be the first to say that I have always liked CP3 and has been one of my favorite basketball players for a long time. At 33, it is pretty obvious he has lost a step when watching him play. First, I would like to say that I understand he has been hurt for 4-5 weeks this season, and I understand the current contradiction by using this argument in the Harris thread; however, CP3 is injured every single year (hopefully he is insured through State Farm). Anyways, the stats.
| Current Season | Prior Season | PPG | 15.6 | 18.6 | FG% | 41.8% | 46.0% | 3P% | 35.5% | 38.0% | FT% | 85.9% | 91.9% | Rebounds | 4.6 | 5.4 | Assists | 8.2 | 7.9 | Steals | 1.9 | 1.7 | Turnover | 2.8 | 2.2 | Minutes | 32.6 | 31.8 |
Interesting enough, his minutes have actually gone up from prior years. This has had a big impact on his per 36 stats for those per 36 fanatics out there. Statistically, almost every category has gone down. His VORP is at an all time low; +/- has dropped significantly; and his defensive and offensive advanced stats are way below his normal averages. I still like CP3 and the leadership he brings, but I don't think it is fair to keep him at a 92 as he is no longer in the tier of the elite of the elite. Just my thoughts, would like to hear arguments both ways. Sorry Alex, not targeting you, but CP3 has been on my watch list for a long time now.

86 any other player and these stats get them an 81.

86 any other player and these stats get them an 81. Honestly, you're right.

CP3 has fallen off a cliff— agreed an 88 would be more on reputation than play.
I’ll vote for an 87

He was insane last season but has taken a small step back this year. That said he's still really good. 88

Really though, Chris Paul has been noticeably worse this season, but he's also been injured. So I'm not convinced how much is due to a real decline or just health. Even now he still has a very positive impact on the game.
I say 89. I don't think we'll know until next season if he's actually started to get worse or not.

87.5 I suppose... I'm somewhere in the middle, the stats really aren't quite upper-80's good but he has a LONG history of being fantastic and perhaps he's dealing with an injury... but perhaps he's truly declining.
Somewhere around 86-88 for now seems good, with room for us to bump him or take him down further depending on what happens next year.

Some GMs here are voting huge decreases on CP3 but then turn around and say that Gary Harris shouldn’t be lowered much because of injury. They’ve both played in 45 games this season and average similar minutes. Just a bit inconsistent voting if you ask me.
