Greetings all,
It is time for Giannis's annual ratings increase.
He is playing less minutes this season than last, taking less shots, but scoring slightly more. His rebounds are up. He's playing better defensively, his assists are up, and hes taking more threes.
Importantly, the Bucks are kings of the East right now, and they have had the best record in the NBA for a long while now. And he is possibly the MVP front runner, depending on your opinion of one James Harden.
He's currently a 95. Westbrook and AD are 96's, Durant and Harden are 97's, and LeBron is a 98.
I, personally think Giannis should be a 98, along with LeBron because he is a very dominant force in the NBA. But I think a 97 is also fine.
Current rating: 95
Proposed new rating: 98

99, outside of average FT% and poor 3pt shooting. Seriously put him in a comparison finder with KD, Kawhi, LBJ and Harden for this season. He's at a 99 dRtg (lower is better) the next closest is Kawhi at 106 the others, LBJ is at 107 and KD and Harden are at 110 (pedestrian tbh). He's on Pace to average 1.4 and 1.5 steals and blocks and a double double in pts and rebs plus 6 assists.
He's flat out the best player in the NBA right now fight me.
P.S. I'm not gonna do it but LBJ is really freaking shaky at 98. I know it was a big deal when I put in his lower thread a while ago and he's the GOAT but fuck is he underwhelming. It might be a bit early considering his injury but if he starts next season like this we're gonna have to seriously consider a drastic measures of lowering him to a 97 to account for his cratered FT shooting.

Is Giannis better than prime LeBron? No, and to me isn't even close, so I don't see a reason for him to be a 98 or 99.

95 is where he caps off for me until he has some playoff success

He's on par with the best players in the NBA for the first time this season.
Let's see him do that for a few more years before we rate him higher than everyone except Michael Jordan you freaking lunatics.

96. Agree with what others have said.
I'm actually on board for a LeBron decrease. 96-97. But at the end of the season, let's see how he and the Lakers finish first.

Side topic to the side topic: Does Kyle Kuzma get extra in the strength category due to how easy he shoved LBJ.

His defensive awareness is a current 99 - needs to come down. Well, his awareness is still probably a 99, but his laziness is a 99 as well.

97. He's 7th in scoring per game, but plays less minutes out of everyone in that top 20 aside from Kyrie. I think the Bucks' dominance is slightly deflating his stats. He's rocking the best Drtng in the entire league outside of Nerlens, and has the Ortng of guys like Jokic, Curry, Kawhi. Putting up a very strong argument for best player in the league right now. Obviously needs some playoff success but he IMO that would only make me vote him higher.

96.
I get it, we all love Giannis, but he has a giant hole in his game because he can't shoot threes, and he's never won a playoff series. So I can't do more than 96 for now.

Giannis is really dominant in the paint while also being a great two way player but his outside shooting needs to improve for me to rate him higher. Also i would like to see him have some playoff success which is possible in this season
