D5 MVP Race - Jan 11 2019 5. Stephen Curry - 27.7 ppg, 8.1 apg, 4.4 rpg, 2.0 spg, 0.6 bpg / 48% FG, 44% 3pSteph has been blazing through the first month of the season, cooking up nearly 28 points per game and shooting 44% from deep. His Warriors' team is 14-4 and looking for their third straight title. 4. Joel Embiid - 25.4 ppg, 11.7 rpg, 3.1 apg, 1.9 bpg, 1.5 spg / 50% FG, 40% 3pThe Celtics have started strong, posting a 12-5 record on the shoulders of their big man in the middle, Joel Embiid. The Process has been putting up ridiculous stats and is top 10 in both points and rebounds per game. Oh, and not to mention he is shooting 40% from beyond the arc and hitting almost 2 threes per game. 3. Anthony Davis - 25.8 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 2.2 apg, 2.2 bpg, 1.9 spg / 49% FG, 40% 3pThe Bucks are off to an incredible 14-2 start, and most of that has been on the back of Anthony Davis. The Brow is just a few steals away from being top 10 in both blocks and steals, and averages a super-efficient double-double on top of that. 2. Giannis Antetokounmpo - 25.9 ppg, 11.3 rpg, 4.1 apg, 2.5 spg, 1.9 bpg / 45% FG, 36% 3pThe Alphabet does a little bit of everything, and probably has the best fantasy stats in the entire league. His efficiency is a bit lower than other guys on this list, however, but that hasn't stopped the Rockets from their best start ever in D5, jumping out to a 14-2 record and shaking things up in the West. 1. James Harden - 27.7 ppg, 8.4 apg, 4.2 rpg, 2.4 spg, 0.8 bpg / 49% FG, 46% 3pEverything is clicking for the 17-1 Nuggets, and there's no one it is clicking for moreso than James Harden. I mean seriously, this guy is shooting 46% from three on over 10 attempts per game. Talk about buckets. He's top 5 in steals and almost top 10 in assists. What can this guy not do?

Wait, who said that? Really though, I'd feel way better about this hot start if I didn't have an eerie feeling that I'm doing the same exact thing as last year. We got off to a 25-4 start, then I won just one of the next 11 games and ended up with a not very impressive 26-14 record through 40 games. So I'm ready for my team to start playing like shit any time now.
