The Timberwolves put up a fair offer early and were the favorite for most of the process, but we couldn't justify signing immediately with a $20 million/1 year offer from the Nets in play. The Nets offer wasn't exactly the most secure, but essentially meant that Darren would only have to sign for about the MLE in the following years to break even with the Wolves' initial offer which averaged 11m/year over 4 years. The gap in discussion eventually played into the Cavaliers' hands, who offered the above amount and a starting role on top of it. With The Timberwolves were only able to increase their offer to approximately 37m/3 years due to hard cap concerns, the decision became clear. |

Seems like a good fit. Sadly we traded for Fultz and our offer of the starting spot no longer was on the table. Looks like we harassed Walt just long enough though  |

All the 3 and D, but, his D guys can only guard 3-types. Gonna get rocked on the boards probably. Collision helps round out his backcourt though, and get a facilitator on the court. |

Looks like we harassed Walt just long enough though Well done. Just couldn't justify risking the hard cap with a larger offer for a 6th/7th man, when I also think I have a more than suitable backup PG on the roster already anyway. Good luck in Cleveland, Darren. We'll miss you! |
