Well. This was a player who got quite a bit more interest than I would have guessed at the start of OSFA. Offers ranged from 5 million a season to, at the end, a 1-year, 25 million offer. However, that big money offer was to come off of the bench. In the end, Joe signed for more guaranteed money, for more seasons, with a starting promise. The starting promise I really felt was a big deal. Even though he's a little older, he still has time (especially with his game/skill set) to take backup roles and sign more contracts with, perhaps, "better teams" to be their backup. In Cleveland, Joe will start primarily at PF, perhaps some SF as well. At one point, Joe nearly signed with the Lakers on a starting offer, however, Cleveland was offering what we considered a significant additional amount of money that the Lakers couldn't offer. In the end, the starting promise, the dedication shown to Joe and his talents, and the money spoke loudest. Year 1: $13,500,000 Year 2: $14,512,500 Year 3: $15,525,000 Year 4: $16,537,500 Total: $60,075,000 Congratulations to Hanamichi Sakuragi and the Cleveland Cavaliers!

Wow Joe Ingles can get this much money? Why can't JJ Redick get an offer anywhere close to this? Dude put up 17ppg and shot 42% from three. It's basically at the point where the first team that offers a fair contract for him will get him. If not, he'll reluctantly sign an offer around the MLE.

So it looks like if you want FA's, all you gotta do is threaten to quit. No?
Wish I would have figured this out in years past...

How can Charles complain about that

I think Hana is not Happy right now. Usually he will comment after the signings and give a warmth welcome and comment.

I think Hana is not Happy right now. Usually he will comment after the signings and give a warmth welcome and comment. Hana got the raw end of a deal because he took a risk. He's probably also not feeling good because of the push back on the Deandre Jordan thing. He's a good GM, tried to science the FA situation which turned out to not work so well based on reception. To be fair, he was actually a good PA too even though I thought his Jordan decision was stupid, shit I bet even Mike Krzyzewski would agree he was a decent PA even though it didn't end in his favor + it went back to decision. I'm gonna be pretty butthurt if Hanna ended up quitting. He's a good GM and a good dude overall.
