Rudy Gobert has chosen to re-sign with the Orlando Magic. Orlando has been a home for Rudy ever since he was drafted by them from France in 2013. He came in at the ground level of a rebuild and slowly but surely worked together with the organisation to build. The process has finally paid off this last season where the Magic acquired a dynamic co-star in Victor Oladipo and were able to secure a long term commitment from him. Along with Dennis Shroeder, Evan Fournier and Derrick Favors we see a well rounded team chock full of young players in Rudy's timeline.
While the fit was good, the level of comfort in Orlando was really what sealed his decision. They have never traded Rudy and believed in him as a raw prospect, then when the time came for his free agency they stepped up with a fantastic pitch and offered the money he deserves. He is thrilled to return to the only team he has ever known.
