Utah Receives: 25 36 Milwaukee 2019 2nd 75 Cory Joseph $11,000,000 $11,000,000 $11,000,000 $11,000,000 Incoming Salary: $11,000,000 Outgoing Salary: $11,966,700 New Team Salary: $68,809,037
I accept this trade. I have to trade a bunch of picks and Joseph, who is still a good young player. I do get to bring in Denzel Valentine and Justise Winslow, though. This helps me with adding some more youth to my team.

I accept, even though I have to trade Winslow and Valentine I get a late first round pick which can be a steal, and I also get another 2nd rounder which I can use for another future gem. I also benefit from getting Cory Joseph, a PG who can do wonders off the bench

Your justification makes 0 sense. "I'm giving up 3 young players so I can add 2 young players?" "So my team can get younger"
What is that?

You're right Jeremiah. I thought this trade might help build youth, but I am actually losing more youth than I'm gaining by completing this trade. I can find a Justise Winslow with the 25th pick and a Denzel Valentine with the 36th pick, while keeping the Milwaukee pick.

It seems pretty obvious that #25 and #36 <<< Winslow and Denzel. But also Indiana gets the expiring contract whilst Utah takes on Cory Joseph's contract and below-average rating. Also as disappointing as Winslow has been he does look set for a breakout year and is improving. Given that we seem to need to babysit Utah because all your trades and reasonings are suspect, I'm going to reject. I'd really like to compile a list of Elton Brand trade-reasonings because they're all more-or-less identical: they rely only on your assessments, and all your assessments seem to be the opposite of 90% of the other D5 GMs We could let you have the freedom to obliterate your team but that's been done before.

Not to mention to piggy back of Ian's comments, along with sending those 2 young players and only getting 25,36 as well as a expiring for 3 years of 11mil in joseph you just drafted sexton! So your taking on a suspect, high dollar bench pg to be your third string pg behind fultz, and sexton?? Not sure thats a good idea bro

I don't get how this is being viewed as an awful trade for Utah. Valentine hasn't shown real promise of being a productive NBA player and Winslow has been a disappointment by almost any metric. Cory Joseph's contract is bad and his skillset doesn't translate over well to the sim, but considering Utah's cap situation it isn't the end of the world.
If Joseph isn't in this deal it's a great trade for Utah imo. Joseph isn't bad enough to take this from a good trade to a must reject.

I'm actually going accept this. I feel this is a great trade for Utah. Justise Winslow is decent but nothing spectacular. With this trade, Elton can draft others who he feels could be better than Winslow and Valentine.
I'm a fan of Corey and still a decent backup PG. Soon Corey's contract will look cheap when everyone get's crazy contracts imo.

Maybe, maybe, Indy is buying at just the right time on Valentine and Winslow. But, I personally think they're both rotation pieces and not much more. Low end starters / role players.
25 and 36 and a 2nd next year are far from guarantees, for obvious reasons, but I think the overall value on this is ok. Even considering Eltom has had some rough trade proposals get shut down, rightfully so, in the past...this one is ok.
Accept from me.

Larry wins this by a mile. Winslow alone is worth those picks, plus he dumps Joseph.

Not that it really matters since Utah is under the cap, but I'm pretty sure this trade is invalid. We've passed the expiring contract trade deadline and Stuckey's dead money is an expiring contract. Utah has the cap space to do the trade without him included though, so whatever. My first instinct was that this was another horrible trade for Utah, I haven't seen one from him yet that I've liked. So I'm surprised to see a bunch of people think Indiana is losing this trade. I guess it's some kind of accomplishment that two GMs who both have bad reputations when it comes to trading can make a deal together and they both lose So sure, I accept.

The expiring contract rule is for players, is it not? It's a bit of a glaring loophole if dead money expiring contracts can be traded. In the week before free agency expiring players can be cut to become expiring dead money contracts to just circumvent the rule.
