Spurs ACCEPT as this fits with our strategic direction of getting younger, acquiring a 1st round pick and maintaining cap flexibility going forward. IT was not in the future plans for the Spurs beyond next season, similar to the Evans trade executed a few weeks ago.

I accept. Previously this season I brought in Patrick Beverly. This trade allows me to bring in Isaiah Thomas. Beverly will bring the defensive intensity and Thomas will bring the offensive fire power. Fire and Ice. I also get to bring in Marcus Morris who I have really liked watching in the run the Celtics have had. His ability to stretch the floor with his shooting and his ability to play on the block. He has been one of the better defenders playing against LeBron. We also get to bring in a veteran reserve guard in Cory Joseph, the current real life Pacer. The down fall is that I have to take on some additional salary.

My one concern is new GM Mark Price losing a 1st Rounder just to shed some salary, but I suppose it's quite a lot of salary being shed - if the cap rises to $101m this off season he will have $37,489,000 cap space going into OSFA, which is a bit of a miracle considering the cap hell he inherited Spurs pursue their goal, Pacers definitely make out like bandits, Cavs are a bit of a head-scratcher but Hana knows what he's doing. I accept.

Cool to see a 4 team trade where nobody is really getting ripped off. Everybody is trying to accomplish different things, and everybody basically gets what they want. I like it.
Accept.

One of my main goals was to create flexibility for the future. I came into this with hardly any draft picks except for this year and a team with huge contracts on guys who were underperforming.
I would rather not give up the Clippers pick. But considering I now have the flexibility to maybe sign a free agent of my choosing or to take on larger contracts for future assets this was a move that I had to make. Also, the Clippers pick has turned out to be much less value then I thought. I didn't envision a team anchored by Batum and Melo to still be in the playoff hunt with just a couple weeks left, but that's where they are.
I am excited for the future of the team. This move gets me out of the cap hell I inherited and I will likely have a top ten pick in this deep draft. Those were my two goals coming into this position.
I accept.

Can't see a reason to reject I guess.
Wasn't there a rule about trading expiring salaries though? Did I make that up?

Incredible by the Spurs.
The Clippers are currently a half-game behind Portland for the 8 seed, and their remaining games are OKC, @mem, @dal
Portland's remaining games are @gsw, PHX
Assuming Portland loses to GSW and beats PHX, then the Clippers need to win two of their remaining three games. Even if they win 2 of the 3, they enter into a tie-breaker scenario, which, based on head-to-head record...
Jan 1 LAC Mar 26 POR Apr 12 POR
The Clippers lose! So basically, assuming Portland beats Phoenix, the Clippers have to win all 3 of their remaining games to make the playoffs... which means that the Spurs are getting a lottery pick here!

Will this end up being the trade that clears cap space for LeBron to come to the Lakers in D5? Could we even say LAL lost the trade if that happens?

I don't think that we should follow the Lebron to la narrative if we never followed the coming home one I have no idea what was going on in D5 in 2014, but I specifically made trades like this to offer LeBron the same basic situation in D5 that he would've got in LA. That was the intention from the start and every move reflects that. I personally think I've put the Lakers in a better position than my real life counterparts who LeBron eagerly signed a four year deal with.
