GM Swap: Sacramento and DetroitFor only the second time in D5 history I'm going to allow a GM swap between two teams. Ghazny Dimalen will take over as Sacramento GM and Chauncey Billups will take over the Detroit job. It's not lightly that I allow a team swap, it undermines each GM identifying with their team, but in my opinion the conditions seem right for it in this instance and both are relatively new GMs. Detroit's path to success is going to be a long road, paved by draft picks, but Ghazny Dimalen has expressed his desire to trade Detroit's draft picks and try to win now, which to me seems like a very bad idea long-term. Allowing Ghazny Dimalen to move to Sacramento at least gives him a team that has become a winning organisation and has veteran, established players. Chauncey Billups is a Michigan native (I think - Chauncey?) and Pistons fan and seems to understand Detroit's situation better. Chauncey has proven himself to be a very active and involved GM and can hopefully maintain that level of enthusiasm as the Pistons make their way through some dark years in pursuit of the bigger, longer-term goal of becoming a contending team again. Also Chauncey Billups is obviously a great former Pistons player and the name fits. Clarification: Sacramento and Detroit's rosters will stay exactly the same as they are, it's only the GMs who are being swapped!

The Pistons are in a tough spot with a lot of big contracts on the books, but they aren't without hope. They own all of their own first round picks, as well as first rounders for San Antonio and LAC, both which look like potential lottery picks. It will take a lot of patience, but there is a clear path forward.
There are actually a handful of teams out there I would say are in a worse situation than Detroit- teams that don't have much young talent but also don't own their own draft picks. Most of these teams do have at least a few tradeable non-pick assets though, which Detroit does not.

Wow why would chauncey want to do this? Because championship or bust. Wasn't looking like we were gonna win it this year so I had to leave. Gonna turn this Pistons team into a contender. We should be competing for that chip by this time next year.

Wow why would chauncey want to do this? Because he realized what we have been telling him the whole time that he shoehorned Sacramento into being the 6th-8th seed for the next half decade.

Good luck to us. I just want to clarify this is not my idea, I really want to embrace the Tanking but still I want to win so when Chauncey Offer me to swap a team I'm still not full on this and said I will wait for Ian Noble confirmation if he will allowed team swapping. but I'm happy right now because We have a chance to compete for championshp.

Ghazny there is absolutely no hate coming at you over this. You did what you could (a few mistakes sure but you were new) with the garbage you were given. I always say I had one of the worst starting points in D5. Your team when you got it makes mine look like the RL Spurs. You literally had nothing.
