Current Rating: 98
Suggested Rating: 95
Really hate to do this but LeBron is no longer the sole character in the discussion of who's the best basketball player in the NBA. He's still good and has actually been pretty efficient this season but 4.3 turnovers per game, regularly turning the ball over like 8-10 times and costing games.
This Cavs team quite frankly is the weakest defensive team I think he's ever played for I think, that is partly not his fault but dang does he loaf about on D a lot more frequently these days.
Out of the six probably most stat producing guys in the NBA, Durant, Curry, Westbrook, Giannis, and Harden the only thing he does better than those guys is FG% which obviously pretty dang awesome which is why we aren't taking him down to the 80s or something. I think his athleticism has slipped a bit and that would be what I'd dock from him for the most part in this lowering.

Jeremiah, kindly look at his current attributes and pinpoint how the 45 points reduction should be divided.

this wont be the same story come playoff-time no change 98 I don't think the Cavs will win the East this season. You can't play consistently underwhelming basketball and succeed in the playoffs no matter how much you believe they can "turn it on".

Jeremiah, kindly look at his current attributes and pinpoint how the 45 points reduction should be divided. Can reduce Block (he's averaging like 3 in the sim compared to 1 in real life). Reduce jump, whens the last time he skied up for a highlight dunk? A lot more layups nowadays. Take offensive awareness and handling down to account for turnovers. I think everyone is overrating LBJ right now. Look at his stats, he's no where near where he was when he got the 99 or when we lowered him to the 98. Go to basketball reference and compare him to Harden, Giannis, KD, Westbrook and Giannis. Harden should be a 99 overall not LBJ.

No change.
I'll believe Lebron has declined when he fails to raise his game in the playoffs. He's been casually elite during the regular season for the least number of years, then in the playoffs he becomes dominant and unstoppable. He's clearly just pacing himself during the regular season to stay as fresh as possible come playoff time.

The ratings are supposed to be based on the stats with a bit of scouting thrown in. No one in D5 watches more Cavs basketball than me. LeBron is no longer otherworldly he's merely just great now.

To further evidence the Cavs lack of effort, they rank 28th in defense. They lost by 32 to Houston last night (at home on ABC Nationally televised). They've lost by 34 to Toronto, 28 to Minnesota, 24 to OKC.
This is a trend, they do not compete against fellow playoff teams. LeBron is just as responsible as anyone else on that team.
In January the Cavs are 6-8
They are 1-3 vs Indiana which is obnoxiously sad.

He's clearly just pacing himself during the regular season to stay as fresh as possible come playoff time. And they are going to need it. They have the players to win against other east teams. The issue is they need a change in players. It' an every season situation for a Lebron leas team. IT can give you similar numbers and play, so it's not because of that trade either. Between him wade and Rose even more so. LeBron is pacing himself because of this and just like past seasons, not being the #1 seed Wont matter much. Still i think this season may be a first or 2nd rd exit... the blame going on LeBron and IT. So here's to the Cavs for listening and doing something before the trade deadline BECAUSE we don' t want to see the best player currently not in the Finals do we??

Can we rate lebron 95 in regular season then like 97 in the playoffs lol. But seriously, you can't take the regular season lightly and keep a 98 rating. BTW, Cavs aren't winning the east. I vote 96.667

116 Magic 98 Cavs
LBJ shooting pretty good yeah, but turning the ball over 6 fucking times which led to us losing a 22 point lead and a 74 to 33 run by the Magic. WOW.
Can we stop pretending everything is OK in Cleveland? And that maybe it has something to do with LBJ?

I don't think anybody is pretending things are ok, it's obvious that they aren't, but there's no rating on here for chemistry. At the end of the day, he's still averaging 26/8/8 and is arguably the best player on the planet and has been consistently for a decade or more.

I'm saying he is not the best player anymore.

Anyone remember D Wade not getting a proper lowering until he was a geriatric in Chicago despite years of poor play?
