Kid has taken it to ANOTHER LEVEL this year. Prefacing everything by pointing out, he is playing only 1:37 more per game compared to last year. 23:52 last year, 25:29 this year. Really important to keep that in mind.
2016/17: 12.6p / 8.1r / 1.0a / 0.5s / 1.2b with 64.3 FG and 53.1 FT (23:52 mpg) vs 2017/18: 14.0p / 11.3r / 1.2a / 0.7s / 1.8b with 69.4 FG and 59.6 FT (25:29 mpg)
The minute and a half increase accounts for only a little bit of the improvement, but he clearly has upped his rebounding and block game, improved his efficiency (yes, that's pretty much alley-oop game but he is good at his role in the pick and roll and finding his spots, and should be maxed on dunk). His athleticism is really, really up there for a big man.
79 is the rating of a low end starter. He's much more than that.
Suggested Rating: 84-86 (think DeAndre Jordan, who plays a full 7mpg more and has a worse FT%, more rebounds (but again, more mpg), less steals, less blocks, same ast (so, worse per minute), similar athleticism, worse FG%.

Didn't we just have a thread for him ? Sometime towards the end of last year he got a 79 rating. Last vote on that was in August. I think he's proven enough and developed enough this year, to warrant another thread based on this year along with further solidifying the improvement shown at the end of last year and the playoffs.

I remember scouting Capela and thinking "no way this guy gets put in a situation to achieve, he's way too raw", and then D'Antoni came along and makes him look like Phoenix-era-Amare.

I assume he'll get some more love towards end of the year or next year from you, if he's an 82 but also reminds you of a guy who was upper 80's/low 90s.

I think Amare's value was inflated by D'Antoni's system, in fact any player in that system will always tend to put up impressive stats.
