Current: 81 Proposed: 87
Currently Jojo has a lower rating than Reggie Jackson and Derrick Favors, he's 3 points behind Goran Dragic, 4 points behind Kevin Love.
Embiid has continued to be a guaranteed 20/10 whenever he's on the court.
He's a defensive and offensive beast. The Sixers defensive rating was 22 points better with Embiid on the court last season.
I'm not going to go on and on because you guys all know his game. Yes, he's injury prone and on minutes restrictions, but during the minutes he's on the court he's worth far more than an 81 rating.

My question is whether or not there is a way to make it so his time missed is effective in D5 somehow. I think that affected his rating the first time and I think it will again. I think this will happen until we see Embiid's rating gimped until we see him play a solid 60 or so games at least 28-30 mins (low starters minutes). If he does that I'm not sure anything will keep him out of the 90's.
For me I'm going to vote 85.

I'll go 87. He plays like an even better rating, but he needs to prove it a little longer and stay on the court more to go higher.

Some of you guys think he is signicantly worse than Jokic or Towns? Like a tier below them?
Seems to me Embiid is at least a tier better than both those guys defensively and on a par offensively.

Yea I would definitely say a tier below Towns is fair... I would put him same tier with Jokic right now, but slightly worse, especially considering how long each player has been impactful. IMO, Towns 88, Jokic 84, Embiid 83

I just become more proud of Porzingis... Yeah. He is not on the same level already as KAT, The Process, Jokic. And I know that you know the reason why.. He is carrying his team alone into the playoffs.

Having watched Embiid in a few games this season I can say that I think he's more impactful on defense than Towns. But not OMG levels better like a Gobert who warps an offense. Similar to Towns he racks up counting stats but its so far been difficult to evaluate because he's not playing enough and its only been a few games so far in reality.

Even looking at the D5 Cup, my team was great against teams with at least one poor defensive big and less than stellar guard play, the second my team went against a team with good guards I got shredded.

Give the guy what he is due.. Can score at will outside and inside.. Pass, rebound, block shots and even steal...
If he can sustain his health for half a season, he is a 92 to me. IMO.

Being 6 on the MVP ladder gets you an 87, but being number 1 only gets you a 92? Sound logic.

Okay I'll change my 83 to a 90. Didn't wanna give a guy a high rating with only 40 games played but he is a beast

For a guy with an injury history as long as his, 83 is perfectly fine. There simply hasn't been enough games played. Unfortunately, I expect him to get hurt this season. The sample size is way too small, and like I said on the Devin Booker thread, everybody is freaking out over a handful of games. This guy is extremely talented, but he doesn't deserve a huge boost until he can prove he can stay on the floor for at least half the season.

Really we penalise injuries by taking a player out of the game not by rating them low. If you think Embiid is an 83 when he's on the court though then wtf I don't know what games you're watching!

I agree, at first I didn't want to give him too high of a rating on small sample size but I realized that the only way to make Embiid realistic is to give him a crazy high rating. He does everything welll but stay healthy. If he improves his jumper and defense a little more, I can see 95 overall soon. I think the same goes with Simmons, I'm gonna have to raise him pretty high to get his rating realistic

Anyone else think that Ian has been purposefully nerfing how easy it is for a person to get on the injury list so he can dominate?
