And, honestly, the 76 had plenty of points for him. Almost too many for what he's proven so far, if I'm being honest. |

It's pretty funny when people get angry over a player signing when nobody else even offered a contract. You can't even say he was a special case too since Bogdan got $12 mil per season under the same circumstances. You guys just forgot about him.
This happens every year with multiple players (See: Mario Chalmers). I tried to do the same thing with Omri Casspi but failed when Chicago offered more. With Bojan free agency ended and I was the only one with an offer on the table. Even then Danny didn't take the offer (3 yrs/ $7.5 mil) and I had to bump it up to this.

The same thing should have happened here. That's basically what did happen with my first offer. What is Danny supposed to do to judge the value though? He can't be psychic and see that everyone thinks he's worth more, he can only see that 1 team offered a contract, and 29 others ignored or forgot about him. I don't see how this contract is so bad though. It's a deal, no doubt about it, but compare it with some other recent signings like Jared Sullinger, or even the deal you signed Omri Casspi to, and it's not too far off what you might expect for him. |

That wasn't on the table. My cap situation means that any player I care about needs a 3 year contract at a minimum. If I don't get Bird rights then I'm not interested. |

Everyone calls for efficiency when they see others hit small jackpots. As if A FEW WEEKS is not enough for you to notice those FAs. He was even included in the list when he was created in the middle of July so you even got a specific post about him. Tsk.

I'm not mad that you got him, good on you. I'm mad everyone else was too stupid to even find out what kind of market there was for him. Shit even I would have done 3 years 15-18 mil easy. I'm also mad at myself because I want wing depth and didn't think for a second he'd be getting less than 10 mil a year so I didn't bother checking. If I was Danny when I inquired about two FAs of his I think it would have been smart to say uhhh Boban doesn't have anything either. I understand things are hectic and FA is winding down so its sort of Meh I'm not mad at him about it at all. This was a clear and real example of people looking at OVR instead of what the player is. Personally even I did that. I saw FA list said 71 and thought it was that other guy who blows. Eh it happens. Good signing. |
