Philadelphia 76ers - Glenn Robinson IIIYear 1: $9,000,000 Year 2: $9,000,000 Year 3: $9,000,000 Year 4: $9,000,000 (PO) Glenn has chosen to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers. While it was a little less guaranteed money than the Boston Celtics offered, it was over a shorter period of time and we felt it allowed Glenn more freedom and earning potential. At this point of Glenn's career it just did feel like it made sense for him to be passing up better money per year. While not as big an issue, playing time also came into account. Ian did say that Glenn would play at SG primarily, the pure number of wings on the Celtics still gave reason for concern and we ultimately felt there was a clearer line for playing time with the 76ers.

Not been a great off season for me has it? 1) Only BRs player to not re-sign. 2) I stopped offering at $31m/4yr (or $39m/5yr) and GR3 left me and signed for $36m/4yr so he could sit behind Monta Ellis and Shabazz Muhammad.

I didn't exactly have a history of loyalty with Glenn that I could pull. 2) Considering $39/5, he'd only need to get a contract of $3m for year 5 to make the same - since this year's offers are the only things I can really use as a baseline, I'd say he has a pretty good shot at that. And fine you're pretty thin at the two, but on wings overall there's quite the jam. Simmons,Ingram,Murray,Grant,Jaylen, Mclemore, Ennis and maybe even Jabari to some extent are all players who figure to take time at either the 2 or 3. Anyway, Monta practically killed his rating last year - Shabazz was okay, Brogs could probably go up but overall it's just a clearer situation.

Sorry Danny Longley, I'm upset but you're doing your job. Goodbye Glenn Robinson. Followed you all of 2013/14 at Michigan. Followed your dad at Purdue, had his Purdue and Bucks jersey when I was a teenager half a lifetime ago. Picked you 9 spots higher than you were picked IRL way back in 2014. Now you've won the dunk contest, Paul George has left Indiana and you're going to get loads of minutes to hopefully keep shooting 40% 3PT. It's distressing to see you leave but I didn't want to jeopardise the future of the Celtics by offering too much. Good luck in Philly. Congrats Allen Iverson

Not been a great off season for me has it? Eh, Glenn is alright but I wouldn't be crying he's gone. I MIGHT have gone a bit higher on him but Indiana just signed a few guards and he might not find the minutes as easily this year.
