I accept because I want to set a precedent; can we trade back and forth or not? If so, I am going to make a killer trades with Miami and San Antonio. Oh, and I am giving Jared a slight advantage in picks so that the rule will be named after me rather than him! Jared Montini

You are too late, Ian already named it the 2nd Josh Barber Rule.

also, FTR, I never wanted a rule named after me. I wanted my rule to be called the Lance Stephenson Rule and still support that title.

You are too late, Ian already named it the 2nd Josh Barber Rule. I propose changing the 2nd Josh Barber Rule, if that has indeed already been decided, to the "Socialist Accountant Rule" because it catchier!

You are accepting the ability to trade back if this trade is approved. Michael Beasley's played for the Spurs like four times in this league

The salaries are so close here so I honestly feel like this is on a different level. One 2nd for another 2nd with two teams that were in the playoffs last year and likely will be in each of these seasons....
I'll accept.

This trade has not gotten the seriousness it deserves, so I am going to illustrate why this trade should not be allowed in D5. Also, I need whichever pick I own to make a deal so please hurry up TC.
If you allow this trade, I am going to offer the following deal to Miami.
Trade 1:
Heat Receive: PF/C Bismack Biyombo 78 $17,300,000/$18,000,000/$19,980,000/$22,177,800(PO) The Contract of Josh Smith - $27,325,267/1 The Contract of Jodie Meeks - $6,008,430/$6,669,357
Total: $50,633,697
Pistons Receive: SG Dwyane Wade 87 $32,000,000/$35,000,000/$38,000,000(PO) SF Trevor Ariza 78 $9,000,000/1
Total: $41,000,000
Trade 2:
Pistons Receive: The Contract of Josh Smith - $27,325,267/1 The Contract of Jodie Meeks - $6,008,430/$6,669,357 2021 1st (Heat)
Total: $33,333,697
Heat Receive: SG Dwyane Wade 87 $32,000,000/$35,000,000/$38,000,000(PO) SF Trevor Ariza 78 $9,000,000/1
Total: $41,000,000
Just to summarize, I just traded Biyombo for the Heat's 2021 1st by basically manipulating the salary cap. As a result, it would fundamentally alter the league if you accept this trade. Thus, we need the Vlade Divac rule to ensure that "a team cannot trade assets and then trade them back within [X] amount of time with the intention of circumventing the 125% trading rule imposed upon teams over the cap."

Why would it be the Vlade Divac rule when that is literally what Josh Barber just tried to do in a trade? Vlade Divac is an unoriginal copycat phony. This new rule, if implemented at all, is merely one rule in a long list of Josh Barber precedent-setting actions. I propose that this new rule be referred to as the 8th addendum to the Josh Barber Rule.

The reason there aren't any rules named after you is because you're trying to find loopholes for the sake of getting a rule named after you. You're not trying to do anything for your team but get a rule. You're even advocating for it to be declined. That's just not how it works.

The Josh Barber Rule: You may not release a player for the purpose of re-signing them outside of the Off Season. How does that have anything to do with this trade?

That's how precedent-setting rulings go sometimes; John Marshall actually ruled against his own parties interest/his ideology (John Adam's, the president that appointed him via the Midnight Judges Act, appointment of William Marbury to Justice of the Peace of Washington D.C.) in order establish judicial review.
