Magic came out strong a few days into free agency and offered a huge contract for Goran. They've been the clear favourite for over a week now. We waited to see how the market would change once some of the big names made their decision, specifically Lillard, but LAL remained in the lead all the way through.
Many other teams showed interest in Goran and inquired about his price, or made lesser offers, but none seemed ready to compete with the high bar the Lakers had set. It was ultimately an easy decision.
Goran is excited to join the Lakers where he will be the starting SG. Teaming up with Kemba should give the Lakers an exciting and dynamic back-court with two capable playmakers. Goran performed really well in this type of environment when playing with Eric Bledsoe in Phoenix. He's excited to help try and bring the Lakers back to being a force in this league.
