24.6 / 4.2 / 4.1 / 1.05 / 0.18 / 42.0% / 35.3% 24.4 / 3.6 / 1.9 / 1.20 / 0.32 / 42.8% / 36.0%
Both players are equally awful on defense. How do you rate each?
Jeremiah you are currently arguing that one of these players is 5 points higher than the other, so I would like to see how you justify that.

Points / Reb / Ast / Stl / Blk / FG% / 3p% post all star break If we rate players only on little 25 game sections of a season you can make anyone look good/bad. Over the course of 82 games Wiggins shot 45.1% compared to Booker's 42.3% I think that is a better judge of the overall ability displayed throughout the course of the season. We never rate people on the first 25 games of the season. Why would we rate them exclusively on the last 25 games? I think you might have a point that in general our SGs are depressed in value but I just don't think people are paying attention to their votes as much as they are to flashy headlines and potential.

If Jabari was an 83 before injury, then Wiggins should be 83.

The athletic advantage Wiggins has gets him a solid chunk of points over a lot of other players. I also think Booker can run the floor a lot better than Wiggins can. And while some may say that Wiggins isn't as bad as Booker on defense, this shouldn't even be a question given Wiggins teammates and system.

I'm mostly agree with the range of the votes here. Certainly reasonable for a player as young as Wiggins. But since I had these numbers anyway I figured I'd add some interesting statistics to this discussion.
Name Pointper100 AST% TRB% Stl% BLK% TS% 3PA 3P% USG% TOV%
Andrew Wiggins 32.2 10.6% 6.3% 1.4% .8% 53.4% 4.8 35.6% 29% 9.4%
83 Jabari Parker 30.1 14.3% 10.6% 1.5% 1.1% 56.3% 5.2 36.5% 26.5% 9.2%
85 Carmelo 32.7 14.4% 9.3% 1.2% 1.1% 53.5% 8.3 36% 29.1% 9.0%
87 Derozan 39.1 20.6% 8.3% 1.5% .4% 55.2% 2.4 26.6% 34.3% 9.0%
84 Nic Bartum 22.3 27.6% 10.1% 1.6% 1.0% 53% 7.8 33.3% 22.2% 14.9%
IMO only Nic Batum is a plus defender at this point in this group, and even he has fallen off from his peak.
I'm not trying to say that Wiggins has better stats than all these guys, he doesn't, but they looked pretty comparable to me and at the very least provides some additional context. 83
