Ian Noble I ran across an interesting penalty for the hard cap that could replace some of the other penalties we currently have: Maybe "days" is too short of an interval, but I think it's a very interesting idea. Meh, too complicated imho Agreed. That could get tedious really fast.

Meh, too complicated imho Agreed. That could get tedious really fast. To complicated is a good reason but "tedious" makes no sense. It would be a rule that would be enforced once or twice ever and it would take literally a few seconds to calculate.

I still feel like if a team offers 4 yrs/100 million, the keeping team just has to match 4 years 100 million, doesn't matter how the salary is spread out ie increasing or decreasing. I think that's the way they do it IRL

I still feel like if a team offers 4 yrs/100 million, the keeping team just has to match 4 years 100 million, doesn't matter how the salary is spread out ie increasing or decreasing. I think that's the way they do it IRL If they do it real life fine with me; however, if they don't I don't want it in here. Allows too much manipulating to keep people if the NBA doesn't do it.

You can trade your picks years ahead of time...
