Mavericks Receive:
Jordan Farmar - $4,000,000/$4,250,000 Luke Walton - $5,680,000/$5,800,000
Total In: $9,680,000
Bobcats Receive:
Hedo Turkoglu - $11,015,850/$11,815,850/$12,000,000 Justin Harper - $473,604/$762,195 2012 1st Round Pick (Miami)
Total In: $11,489,454
Mavericks accept. Essentially a salary dump for me. I figure Year 3 Free Agency will be my most important year, so I'm clearing as much cap to retain my key players. Turkoglu is expendable as I've got a glut of young wings that are much cheaper.
Also get a pretty underrated point-man in Jordan Farmar. He's not gonna wow you or anything but he had a good bounce back year and is productive as a 2nd-Unit PG. I think he's at least better than his 73 rating by 2 or 3 points. Needs to come back from Europe to prove that though.

I Accept.
Like Mavs is focusing on Year 3 Free Agency, my focus is Year 4, so Turkoglu huge salary don't bothers me at all.
I receive a 1st round pick on this draft (the 30th pick, but it's a very deep draft, so it's going to end up being a very nice role player) that is going to help me a lot with my long-term plan.
Turkoglu can help my team on my final attempt to make a run to the offs and Farmar is barely playing, seeing that he's my 2nd backup for Kemba with Toney Douglas being the 1st. I also get rid of Luke Walton who, IMO, is more difficult to trade than Hedo.
Bobcats after trade:
PG - Kemba / Douglas / Fortson SG - Gordon / Bogans SF - Turkoglu / Q-Rich PF - Varejao / Thomas / Harper C - Biyombo / Gray

Charlotte rapes in this trade, in my opinion, but it's not exactly gutting the Mavericks to make this deal so I accept.

Not going to deny that I'm losing out big-time on pure value here, but with Anderson,Parsons and Greene as well as Douglas-Roberts in line for a shot at SF, Hedo's just a bad contract to me.
Actually forgot Brewer, that's how overloaded with wings I am haha.

Don't love it but Farmar is in fact a useful player, some upside remaining too as he's never had a big shot at being a starting PG, but he's young ish still and has proven some things in that backup role.
Hedo's value/negative value/contract situation puts a twist on the trade that makes it hard to judge.
I'll accept it.
