LeBron James
Year 1: $32,950,050
Year 2: $36,574,555
Year 3: $40,597,756 (Player Option)
LeBron just made the 2nd most difficult free agent decision of his career. It was between Cleveland and Golden State at the end. We felt that Kristaaps just isn't seasoned enough and although they did have a magical season last year it was not enough to sway him into returning home. He signed a very short deal with a player option that he will most certainly decline due to rising cap and a second chance at returning home.
(This was an insanely difficult decision for me both because I love Cleveland and I REALLY hate the Warriors it doesn't help that even in D5 they have my most hated player still. I do not think that LBJ returns to Cleveland in real life if they don't have Kyrie and Tristan going into their 4th seasons. That said Hanamachi had a wonderful presentation so don't be surprised if he gets a few long shot signings of good players in the future.)

I'm surprised Cleveland was such a big contender in this. Was it just the home town thing? Who else made offers?

I'm surprised Cleveland was such a big contender in this. Was it just the home town thing? Who else made offers? Chicago was only other team that offered. His presentation was AMAZING but I felt that for a player who's been constantly compared to Jordan his entire career I just don't believe he signs there. It was sort of a realism thing but with this level of competition for players you have to be almost annoyingly nitpicky. Houston was very creative with his offer but there were some weird things going on in it that caused him to end up out of the running. That was it.
